surrender range ?
how close should a player be to ask for a surrender ?
i've heard ranges of 10-25ft,just asking cause i felt real bad this morning
when i put one ball into my buddy's back from 35ft after flanking him
and ending up with a clean line of sight.

I alwasy push for no surrendering. you can play with more intensity that way. Course you gotta respect it and not put 10+ balls at a guy you're trying to bunker or get a clean shot at

there's nothing wrong with playing by a surrender rule. It doesn't exactly feel nice to get shot form 1-4 feet away.
If you pal was hurt from 35 feet, I'd say you need to buy a handheld chrono and make sure you're not shooting over 300 FPS

If the field has a minimum distance follow it, if not, shoot them. Ive learned that a lot of people dont surrender, so now im making sure there is a ball on them. You have to expect to get hit and you cant worry about hurting other people, its paintball, welts happen.

I wouldn't play surrender in any game. The point is to shoot the other team or escape with the flag. Everyone plays the games knowing that they are going to get hit by a paintball at some point in time.

Yeah, but as a lof of people will tell you, getting shot from 5 feet or less isn't exactly pain-free. The fact of the matter is that paintballs hurt! If you're playing speedball on the other hand, 1-5 feet away you just have to deal with!

I don't understand sneaking up on someone or running someone down to yell out "surrender!" instead of just 1 shotting them andd it's over. Especially since if you say that and they don't right away and a teammate shoots you ... then what?
I would rather deal with a little pinch of pain then giving away position and playing the whole surrender game. just my opinion.

Think abount a noob (I'm thinking about me xD) Kinda New to paintball, say first time, would kind of screw up your first experience getting shot between 1-10 Feet... And there prolly scared, I was... And you gotta respect people too, I hate it when your playing paintball at a feild or something, and some ***hole shoots some beginners who surrender from like 5 feet away in there bunker when the refs arent looking or something stupid....

My turn:
As a field owner, our field does encourage giving someone who is VERY close and that you have dead to rights the option to surrender out of courtesy. We are a family friendly field and no one wants to get shot a 2 feet away, especially if you're 10. It's a family thing, and for some of us, an honor thing. Giving your opponent the option of mercy is actually quite noble when it becomes part of your character. We do however advise our players that when demanding someone surrender their opponent does have the option to NOT surrender. The advice we give is that you tell them to surrender and count down from 3 to 1. If they haven't surrendered by 1, they are most probably going to shoot you, so you might as well shoot him to save your own neck. This does NOT mean shouting surrender and then plugging him right after you shout. You have to give them SOME resemblance of a chance to surrender.
For older crowds we just say that the option for surrenders is out there and we encourage it's use as a courtesy.
For younger crowds we set up a 5-10 foot distance as "surrender able." We HIGHLY encourage the use of surrendering as a matter of making sure the kids are still having fun. We've all seen the young kid get shot up close and then not play for the rest of the day because of it. No one, especially a field owner, wants that.
So my final word:
If you are close enough to where it is REALLY going to hurt, and it's just them, and you have them dead to rights, go ahead and surrender them out of courtesy to your opponent. If you're clearing rooms and he's right there plug him. The hesitation will get you killed. But if you sneak up on someone, barrel tag or surrender them out of courtesy, and of not completely giving away your position.
That's my word on the matter. That what you want from it or don't take anything at all. It doesn't bother me none.

Lol I can't wait to silently creep up behind someone, and press the barrel to their back, and say "Surrender or die". (obviously I wouldn't shoot him at that range, but he wouldn't know that)

i gave the look to my friend who invited me and said told ya so.
