Need Some advice

Well I have a 32 degrees Rebel Extreme paintball gun and I've been content with it but I just can't seem to get the velocity up. I've purchased a spring kit and it does not seem to have made a noticable difference. I am not sure I have put the correct tension spring in the marker. I used the stiff spring in the rear for the bolt but the gun will double fire occasionally. So I put the meduim tension spring in and I get a more consistent shot but still seems to lob the ball after 50 ft or so. I am not sure which spring tension needs to go in the front of the marker next to the low pressure chamber. I don't believe I need an expansion chamber for the ammount of balls per second I shoot but if i get the e-grip would that be a necessary upgrade? I have upgraded the stock barrel up to either 12 or 14" I believe 12. But it is ported quite substantially. If someone has some advice to get my gun shooting a bit better I would appreciate it.

after 50 ft it's going to lob. You're only shooting at 300 FPS, what do you expect? darts all the way to your target?

your marker is fine. As for the expansion chamber, yeah it's a good idea, but an even better idea is to get an anti-siphon tube installed on your co2 tank.

Well I was out playing this past weekend for the first time a quite a while and my gun was, imo one of the lesser performing guns although many of theirs had mods but there was a significant velocity gap. The stock Tippman 98, a spyder, and a wall-mart Tach 5 ( I belive it's called) all shot with more force than mine. I played around with the springs but couldn't spot a significant increase in the velocity. I don't really understand the springs. If someone could explain how they work maybe I can see what a different setup would do. I know the rear spring on the bolt pushes the ball forward allowing the CO2 to shoot the ball out and that a stiffer spring helps, but I don't see how when the CO2 is what propels the ball not the spring force if I am correct. And I have a lower tension spring on the cup seal, my thought behind that is that more CO2 can go through before the cupseal closes. Am I right so far thinking that? Would you suggest I go back to the smaller barrel since it is shorter?

you need a handheld chrono. It's VERY unsafe to be shooting at speeds over 300 FPS. these can be had for $30-$50. I HIGHLY suggest investing in one.

The main spring drives the striker into the valve, which opens the valve for a fraction of a second. the longer the valve is open, the more air from your tank flows out the barrel, thus causing faster velocity.

the lighter the spring on your cup seal, the easier it is to open your valve with the main spring. From there you get to start messing around with things.

So In theory the best results would be to have either the medium or stiff spring in on the bolt and use the weak spring on the cupseal as long as I can keep in the 300fps or below range? What would cause my gun to shoot twice but only one ball come out whenever I use a stiffer spring in on the bolt?

The spring is in tension while your marker is cocked and the sear had to hold the striker from moving forward(the sear is the metal piece that sticks up on your grip frame. you can see it if you remove the frame)
After time, the sear starts to wear and sometimes the striker slips forward.

there's a lot of combinations to achieve 300FPS and below, but the valve spring is mainly used to regulate efficiency. the rear spring has a part of it too. Iv'e never figured it out completely cuz it was too much work and I bought a different marker. Jut play around with it a little and you'll find a happy medium
