A. Chill out
B. A bolt is the piece in the back of the gun that you have to pull back to "cock" the marker, and make it fire.
C. You're velocity should NEVER REACH 280FPS. That high of a velocity can cause serious injury.
D. Instead of buying a new bolt, save up you're money, and buy a new gun.
E. Don't buy anything that has the name "Pirahna" in it.

what are you talking about?
280FPS is just fine. most places have that within their limits.
Pirahna is a fine brand of markers, I don't know where you're getting the idea that they are crappy.

I have seen so many Pirahna brand markers brera down, and perform at the very bottom of the scale, that it's not even funny. I'm not knocking them, because I have been shot out by them, but in general they do have a lot of problems. And as far as 280FPS is concerned, you're not aloowed to exceed 300FPS due to safety reasons, so 280 is more than pushing it.

Well, I don't know anything about Piranah, However, any " Delrin" style bolt (looks like plastic or plastic covered) would be better. Try this sight or do some of your own searches and see what comes up..

Have to claim ignorance to that... I don't really know yet whats better... I just ordered a couple of Spyder Pilot ACS's to try out, they have the "anti-chop" bolts in them, but I will see. There are a lot of 16 year old experts on this forum, just look around a bit.
Anyone else to chime in????

You don't "up" these types of threads. You still need to lube ACS bolts, seeing as they do still have o-rings on them. If you don't lube them, you're o-rings will break and you will leak CO2 or HPA.

Piranha is a pretty hit-or miss company. In my opinion, any PMI gun you buy will either work fine or not at all...it's about a 50-50 chance.

OP: I would advise against a new bolt if you're going to get serious about the game. It really won't help enough to make a difference if you're going to buy a new gun in the next year or so. However, if you're just going to stick with your Piranha, go crazy. If you can tell us the model or some pics of the gun, it'd be easier to recommend a specific bolt.

YouCantSeeMe: 280 fps is certainly not "pushing it", and to suggest such is nonsense. Anything over 300 fps is pushing it, and that's why 300 is the cutoff line. Granted, very few rec markers will have the consistency to stay at 280, but they should get within +-10 or so, so really around 290 fps should be fine for anyone's purposes.
