New player needs a marker...
Greetings all,
I've recently been introduced to the world of paintball and I'm hooked! I played for the first time this past weekend and had a very very fun time. I used my nephew's Spyder Hyper II (I think?)and liked it, but ended wanting a bit more. I've been reading up on a few Tippmann reviews and am VERY interested in some of the Tippmann 98 custom models. Can any suggest a specific model. I'm seeing Pros, some with ACT and E-grips. Since I'm new all this is pretty foreign to me. I'm looking to spend about $300.00 - $350.00 on the gun and a few accesories.
Thanks for the help!

there's no such thing as a spyder hyper 2.If you want something more than a spyder, don't get a tippman. they are slow, big and very expensive to make fast.
pick up a spyder v2, a High pressure air tank, and a forcefed hopper and you'll be much happier.
what sort of paintball do you play/see yourself playing?
what sort of markers are the people you play with using?

Thanks for the reply. I know it was a Spyder something...it was green lol.
I'll most likely be playing woodball w/ some speedball mixed in. We did about 75% woods and then rest speedball. I did a lot better in the speedball, but kind of like the woods a bit more. Most of the guys playing had average guns. One friend was borrowing a gun that he said was pretty expensive. He was lighting people up all day with it lol.

I find it's more fun to match the markers with what other people are using. sure it's fun to light people up with something fast, but is it really fun for a long period of time?
I say stick with an electronic frame spyder. If you dont' have access to HPA, get the piolit or vs1 instead. they can run on CO2 fine.

That would get old. We played with a bunch of people who were all just there for fun...all novices basically.
I'll take a look at those Spyders. How's the Ion Pro?
Thanks again!

Ions are great but but harder to understand when you don't know anything about paintball. Spyders are fairly easy to use, cheaper and reliable. So that's why they tend to be a nicer choice for a noobie (no offense here).
The Vs1 is the best marker I've seen on CO2. Electronic trigger, eyes (anti-chop system), light and really easy to maintain, a really nice choice.
Check in my sig if you want more infos on the VS1.

xD anyway, there great guns, espcially for a novice, but there also kinda fast, and not to heavy ACS bolt > eyes (I've never really understood why completely) but meh, its your money and your choice.

You have that backwards. Eyes are better than ACS Bolts by a LONGSHOT.
