Am I ready for this gun?

I have been playing paint ball for a year and a half now. Currently my gun is the a-5. I am looking to join a team and think that it is time to get a higher end gun to play in high level tournaments. Im looking at the smartparts dynasty Ion and am wondering if this a good quality gun. Are there any guns out there you think I should have a look at. I dont want a tech savvy gun that is a pain in the ass to take apart and clean. My price range is roughly $350. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Thanks,
Craig

Why not. The Ion is a good gun but it is kind of a pain to breakdown for cleaning and such. There are after market body kits the the Foehn from Deadly Winds that make this easier. I own the Ion and the Invert Mini, and of the two I would recommend the Mini. It is Light, small and fast right out of the box. Although with the right set up for the Ion you can use co2(anti-syphon tube and the palmer Stabilizer regulator), but I highly recommend Nitrogen/Compressed air. The Mini is only Nitro/Comp Air and is leaps and bounds easier to breakdown than the Ion. Both will also need a fast hopper Halo/Empire/Vlocity. The stock barrel is also better IMO than the stock Ion, but I would still recommend a barrel kit SP Freak/Empire Revolver/Evil Pipe to name a few.

If you're looking for the best gun to buy around the $350 price range you should get a mini..i've had mine for a while and its great..i havent put any upgrades on it yet and its still one of the best guns i've ever shot..i found mine new on ebay for only 330 so its not too expensive..check out the pmr's too.

If you want something reliable and easy to take apart something like a used 05 cyborg or viking would be a good idea. But those guns are outdated. Get a used ego. Or if you like spoolers you could get a pm5/6.
