Newb with an A-5. Questions!!

Heyy guys! Hope i'm doing the right thing by making this thread but I got a couple questions and hopefully can get some answers Uhm i'm debating wether to keep my Tippmann 98 Custom or to follow up and buy the Tippmann A-5 that is coming in the order? I have heard alot of good stuff about the A-5 so i'm leaning more towards that, if anyone can give me some advice if im making the right decision? Oh and just for future reference I plan on being in the woods AND doing speedball. Also last thing, I was wondering if anyone could recommend any add-ons. Iv heard alot of talk about stocks, egrips, double trigger, barrels, etc. and for a new guy it gets kinda confusing.
Anyways help needed! Thanks. xD

screw the A-5 if you're playing woodsball and speedball then get an ion or an epiphany they are cheap and work great for both.

It wouldn't be much of an upgrade to get a A-5 from a 98. If you can afford an air tank, your options become a lot better.

I would not go with the a-5 if you have the 98, they're nearly identical except the accessories.

Let me make a recomendation if your wanting something fast, but with the "tactical" looking woodsball options.

That is the AGD tac one. They come with an excellent R/T valve that's more than quick enough for woods. If you want more speed on a speedball field, they're are numerous e-frames for them, OR the all mechanical pneumag, which is one of the true walkable mechs around. The gun is one of the few guns that can legitimately be called "tougher than any tippman" LOL. It's one of the nicest, and more versatile, guns on the market. It also has the tactical options, and spec ops put out a very nice stock kit for it. It comes not only in centerfeed, but in left and right horizontal feeds designed for Q loaders and warpfeeds.

And contrary to some misinformation being disseminated on this and forums like PBN, AGD is not out of business, is not going to be shutting down anytime soon, and the gun still has a huge following on sites like automags.org and pblegion.com.

Can you mention a price tag on it? And still thank you for the advice. Its just tough to get outta my head cause iv read so much on the A-5 heard its a pretty nice gun to get ahold of. Anyways i'll do some more research and thanks so far for some more gun names.

Oh btw. for mods though nobody has really said anything. Got any tips on what is needed? What I was thinking for an A-5 is a flatline and double trigger.

NO FLATLINE. they really are a waste. you might get a bit more range, but it wont break any farther out, and will be more inaccurate to boot.

The A-5 is the exact same gun with a slightly different cocking mechanism and the cyclone feed. You can get those for a 98 btw.

The tac one is 450 new. used there about 300, and don't worry about buying a mag use....they don't wear out(I have on that I bought used 12yrs ago, it still works like new!).

try the automags.org forums, you'll find some great deals on them. Read up on the mag as well, you'll find they're an interesting little marker

i agree with txaggie about the flatline but i think you should get an ion or an epiphany they are about 200-250 now and they work great for both because they aren't fragile.

You have got to be kidding me....you would recommend spending three hundred dollars on a gun that works 50% of the time to a gun that I personally have had, and had work for more than a decade, without ever having to even OIL

they work great and i'm not insulting your gun i'm just saying that an ion is a good gun and is very reliable. My friend has had one for a while and no problems it just requires a little bit of maintenance, just a little more than none. (The Real Kaz said Smart Parts put AGD out of bussiness). ( i posted this quick excuse any errors)

The ion's reputation for reliability is just above a street walkers not having STDs.

FOR THE LAST TIME KAZ, YOU ARE WRONG. AGD is NOT out of business, don't believe me, CALL THEM. That photo is there stock photo. Smart Parts never served a C&D letter to AGD, and thhey never went out of business. Quit bald face lying to people on this, I've always thought you were a good poster.

Don't get an AGD. Or another Tippmann. Or an Ion.

Take a look at the Invert Mini. As long as you have an HPA tank and halo/reloader B, you won't need anything else.

Oh so Explaining and helping the kid, plus trying to swat down the misconceptions and outright falsehoods some members of this forum are posting is trolling? Providing explanations, statistics, and opinions base on real world experience on TOP of personal opinion is not what this forum was meant for....nice.
