Talking Hello and rate my gear!!

(Back Story)
Whats up everyone, I am happy to say I am finally getting back into paintball. I played 13-15 alot and then quit due to a knee injury and involvement in other hobbies (Music), When I was 20 some friends from work wanted to go paintballing and my old pasion flared, I went out and bought a gun (Tippmann A-5 I couldnt belive how cool this gun was when I first tried it, the last gun I had used was a Tippman Prolite) and a mask (I remember from my old first time experiences how bad it was using a rental gun and a rental mask) and I had to um, indulge myself with a 16 Inch All American Smart Parts barrel that I use to lust over when I was 15 and couldnt afford (It wasnt what I had hoped for ... ) anyways, I didnt really have the motivation to play and none of my friends were into it so I sold my gear.

(Current)
The urge to play paintball has been building in me for years (Im 26 now), a friend at work got a gun for christmas and announced his intentions to start playing, that was enough for me, Im kicking out of my perverbial paintball closet, ordering gear, and we are heading out to kick some butt (Or get our butts kicked, its been awhile bleh), I know alot has happend in the past few years, Ive been doing some research and figured id toss my loadout im thinking about ordering and getting some advice on it, nothing is ordered yet and I am open to any ideas and suggestions... So here it is.

(Gear)
Tippmann A-5 (My previous experience with this gun was short but wonderful and I am happy to buy it a second time ((The amount of mods out are ridiculous)).

JT ProFlex-Black (I have previous experience having bought the JT Spectra system twice and loved it, I feel the ProFlex seems to have superior venting allowing for cooler temperatures under the mask).

PPS Brass Barrel (Just getting back into this I dont want to have multiple barrels and worry about crappy field paint and getting a good bore match, The reputation this barrel has for shooting whatever you can cram down it well has preceeded it and it sounds like the barrel for my current level of commitment).

Smart Parts 20oz Tank with Anti-Siphon and On-Off (Anti Siphon to work with the remote and hopefully keep the gun 100% free of liquid)

JCS VooDoo folding stock with RVA (The one problem I had with my last A-5 setup was lack of stability, I would instinctivley try to use the tank as a stock and it ended up being very uncomfortable and never working, I dont seem to aim well with the gun floating in front of me without being anchored..)

Mp5 gas threw mag so I can take the grip off the gun and use the mag crotch instead.

I havnt decided on a remote yet I recall hearing awhile ago that using a slide check on a co2 gun wrecks havoc on the o-rings?? I this true?? I was going to get a remote without a slide check and use the tanks on-off (or the rmemotes if it comes with one). Anyone suggestions would be welcome.

I also need a decent 2+1 or a 4+1, all the ones I seem to find online look chintzy and plasticy...

Thats pretty much everything besides some squeeges and barrel plugs etc. We plan on playing rec/woodsball and hopefully playing a few times a month. I want to get a decent gear set up thats around 500 and will leave me decently equipped. I played alot when I was young with no money and haggered gear and I dont feel like going threw that again I know things have changed alot and theres a ton of great gear and amazing prices now, so if anyone can point out something better etc please do, I cant wait to hit the field though, just looking at the gear and making plans is getting me excited again...

Cheers~

Well the A-5 is a great gun if you're looking to do woodsball. I don't know much about stocks, and I've never heard of that barrel, but the Proflex is a great mask, the only downside I can see being slightly less field of vision than other top brand masks. The mp5 mag and remote system are totally up to you, as it is your preference. I would suggest buying at least the mask, mag, and remote through a local shop, just to be sure that the feel of them all is what you want, and that you could return them, unlike most online shops. The tank is a good choice, but I would suggest buying an HPA tank instead of the Co2 tank, IF you have the money for it. If not, the co2 should be fine.

that's all I got for now, sorry I'm pretty tired haha.

Thanks for the advice, im really going for comfort this time, I just want to feel natural on the field and have fun, I hear what your saying about the hpa but im going to be playing in some real casual places so im worried about access, I figure co2 will be good while im just foolin around. I figure if I do it for a few months and im still dedicated and want to take the next level, hpa and hopefully a better marker will follow. I dont want to rush anything.

mLuH- That's PPS's barrel. Very well liked but kinda old school(FKC, your age is showin a bit man ). You ought to take a look at them, you see em a lot with blazers and on a lot of old school guns. They shoot very well, and are very durable. There's always been talk that brass shoots better as well but I don't buy it...

Now im just startin to feel old heh.. From all the reviews I read the barrel is eliptical so somewhere in the barrel usually provides a decent bore match for whatever kind of paint you end up using, so it will shoot anything decent with minimum breaks. They also say that brass has the least amount of friction for gelatin and is supposidly the best for manipulating the shape of ball.

Heres a few links I came acros in my travels talking about it

http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2502752

In this thread MisterMister goes into depth about them and throws out some great links and information, its actually one of the better personal insights from somebody that really sold me on this barrel.

A lot of barrel talk is really just marketing hype, similar to Smart Part's so called "magic box".

A-5 is good, but get e-frame for it..but do they make a fast hopper for the A-5? It seems sketchy to me As for other markers...I have a spyder Imagine with T-boarded E-Frame, Bob Long Reg, and plenty of other ups and mods, shoots great for a spyder. LMK if you would be interested in it. If not, go for the A-5 if you like it. or you could get a used PMR used for prolly the same price as a new A-5. Matrix Guns are smooth and shoot like a dream.

HPA is the best bet, because once you have it, you wonr ever need to worry about buying a tank again, filling is cheap at most fields, my field is $10 for all day air. I recomend DXS or Crossfire for HPA tanks, get a 45 or 68ci and 4500psi

...ProFlex Masks are very nice, I have a spectra, which i personally like better myself, plus the spectra is cheaper.

Hoppers, i would recommend Egg 3 or VL Force for cheaper good ones.

Barrel: idk the one you listed...i started playing 4 yrs ago so i've never heard of it. idk of any cheap good barrels...maybe something Smart Parts or J&J?

I dont feel I need a higher performance hopper as I will be shooting the A-5 stock without response / egrip. I dont tend to pump paint out right away. If I ever see a day where the A-5 isnt fast enough for me I will probably upgrade to a better gun, I mainly play woodsball and I tend to launch small bursts as opposed to steady streams of paint. If I end up playing alot of speed ball Id probably buy a autococker instead, something I considered instead of the A-5 but didnt think I was good enough to get considering my lack of playing in the past 4-5 years. If I prove to myself I am worthy of a gun upgrade I will definetly get something that can move paint, but if I suck and the tippmann is more gun than I need then, im not out any extra $$ =D
