Whats as good as or better than an ion?
I suggested to my friend to buy an ion. And hes going to buy one unless i tell him otherwise. So im wondering if an ion is the best bet for a price range around $200-$250 new, and thats not a pmr or slg. He just wants an electropneumatic no tippmanns no autocockers or like scenario markers.

I would suggest that your friend just waits to get a total of $313 and he can get a PMR and a Pure Energy 70/3000. I only suggest this because the Ion (in my opinion) is NOT worth the money you pay for it. They require a lot of essential upgrades, and the PMR does not. **I am not trying to offend ANYBODY with ths post.**

well you just eliminated the only competitors besides the promaster, which has been discontinued and I really would not recommend. umm used epiphany? you can get them for the same price as an ion nowadays, and it has all the thigns you would need ot put on an ion.

A steel tank of that size is a very bad idea. I can't even begin to imagine how heavy it would be. The ion isn't that bad of a gun, just really hard to tech. All you really need to get going is a feedneck and barrel. The PMR is still better than the ion though.

The Vs1 is a better value and just as good of gun, plus will not require as much crap.
I've made some very long and detailed explanations about this. 99% of the arguments that can be brought up against it are pure myth, or ignorance of reality. If he wants a gun because it's electro pneumatic, he's really not very smart or is being lied to. He should want a gun because of the way it shoots and holds up, not because "it's ep so it must be better...".

if you are gonna get a vs, get a vs2. it has an on/off clamping feedneck, and better trigger.

the rocking trigger is not wort hit imo, it says it makes it easier but in truth it makes it harder. and a lot of tournament series do not allow the rocking trigger frame.

Considering I paid $40 less than a VS2, I can live with it. I will probably find a VS2 grip to use if I ever do a touney.

that is way too much hassle for a spyder. if he is looking into the vs line, the vs2 is the way to go.

nah i dont like the spyders 8P, and i didnt mean like what hes looking for in a gun is that its electro pneumatic... im just saying that he doesnt want a regular pneumatic.
but my other friend we already looked into this but since he had a bit more money he went with the slg... and from what ive heard and read and asked... the slg is overall way better than the rail
i like the idea of an epiphany... are smartparts really really that technical... or hard of a gun to maintain?

It's not hard, you just have to do more to the gun, same with the ion. most guns you just pull out a bolt pin or take off a back cap to get to the bolt, but with an ion/epiphany you have to completely disassemble the gun. me personally I have no problem with that so it doesn't bother me. but there are people who just take off the screws and assume the gun is gonna separate, if you try that with the ion/epiphany you will **** stuff up. there are parts you have to unscrew before you can fully take the frame offa the body.

If you can find an etek for that price /end thread. No argument, I'm switching to one as my primary this Saturday in fact(money was not an object in this....it was my choice...)/
Why don't you "like spyders 8P"? you don't liek them because you think they're a newb gun and people tell you you shouldn't. or you have a legitimate technical reason to not like them? 99% chance it's the former over the latter, and that it will be some lame excuse about kick....

nah i just dont like them cosmetically and i think an ion would be a much better choice, and we are not buying a used marker... and ebay is definitely the worst place to buy a marker. Got a pump that was supposed to come with extra stuff and parts... and all i got was the marker and was a little bit upset with that. Bought a hopper off there... and two of the screws were so worn i couldnt unscrew them... one of the screws fell out cuz there was a crack... and this person had like 98% good feedback
anyways i think we were gonna stick with the epiphany but it turned out he found a better deal...
get this he got an infinity legend with tank mask and hopper, for only $250
