Get a 14" barrel, the stock barrel on the 98 is horrible.

You can spend your money how you want, and spending it on a low end gun like a Tippmann is not a wise thing to do if you ever want to upgrade. That being said, an electronic frame will be a big improvement to your marker, but will take away some of the durability that Tippmanns are known for.

If I was you, I would get the cheap barrel for the 98 and save up for a better gun.

1 thread was more than sufficient for this. I would actually recommend a 10 inch or less barrel for the 98. The gun is long enough, and length has absolutley no impact on accuracy after 6-8 inches.
