Well, just ordered my first gun.....

I really liked the look of this, so decided to get it. I was really looking at Spyders at first, but thought this might be more fun around the fields by our house, as everyone else has cheap mechanical Triumphs & Walmart guns.....

233$ shipped seemed like a good deal to me for all this, especially as the price of the gun is around 200$ af far as I can see......I just want to get a double trigger and X7 hopper to start.

I will likely get something else if we ever decide to go to a field.

A-5 is cool. But buy thicker shelled paint because the cyclone feed can be a little picky especially in the winter.

Will do...thanks for the tip!

I think I am going to see if I can add on a Egrip & Vortex mod I read about, just to add to the fun factor....

Good choice if your going to get the Egrip, you do not need the vortex mod and lightning rod if you dont have the EGrip, if anything make sure you have a GOOD mask before upgrading to less practical things like the Egrip (I never said it wasnt practical but its a little less than other things).

If your going to be using CO2, an expansion chamber is a great choice because it will reduce spikes in velocity. The 8 stage x chamber is more recommend than tippmanns because it has 8 stages unlike the tippmann's, it has 4 stages, and the threads on the tippman x chamber are a pain in the ass to get right.

How is the stock trigger pull....would I be happy if I got a double trigger? Or do you really need a eGrip to have fun with this gun?

The trigger pull is more light than I expected, although you can adjust it by bending the leaf in the EGrip, but out of the box its actually very light. This is more for fun, or if your being rushed (1 on 2 its very helpful, shot 1 guy in the leg 5 times, all broke).. Double trigger you'll be able to walk it, although I put my stock trigger back on for a more realism look.. But when I go to other places i put it on.

So I can get off a bit more than the 5-6 BPS I have been reading about, with a double trigger (standard or blade style)?

I can get at the least 13 BPS with the stock trigger....

EDIT:

Really? I always thought I was hitting at the least 13 with the JCS. Guess we do learn something new everyday..

If by "fun" you mean making this gun shoot as fast as legally (or illegally for that matter) possible, than yes, an e-grip is required. Some people have fun with one shot pumps though... just something to keep in mind.

QFT. even still good find on a good deal. like said earlier you definitely want to put some money towards a good mask. don't be cheap on whats saving your face.

I am leaning heavily toward this:

JT Flex 8 Full Cover Mask

flex8's are nice, but honestly the full cover thing is going to get annoying pretty quick..

So recommend just a front mask then? I'm open to input!

Agreed with twaggie.. All you need is a mask that protects your eyes and face.. It doesnt hurt when you get hit in the head (or at least to me it doesnt)
