Hi everone

im jus goin to order my new (and 1st) paintball gun but i didnt know which gas to get, nor how to refill either gas

i looked around and i know this is the smart parts ion is the gun for me!
i also looked to see wot people were using to gas the thing.

smart parts themselves said 68ci, 4500psi bottle but others have been using PMI Pure Energy 88ci/3000psi so i dunno what the pro cons are of each or just get a Spyder 20oz Co2 Complete Tank with Pin Valve.

then else where people say u can use co2 but u need a Anti-Siphon Tube Kit
then others say not to use co2 on elctrophunmatic gun

im sooooo confused

Do not use CO2 on the ion. It will cause it to break. You must use compressed air.

Even if the CO2 has a Anti-Siphon Tube its still a bad idea. If anything compress air is the way to go, its much cleaner than CO2 and doesn't freeze (thats a big issue, I spit on my CO2 tank and it froze on it and when you hold it you can get frostbite while wearing gloves).. You can get them filled at local fields (though some dont allow you to walk out of the field with a full tank) local paintball shops, or maybe some sports stores. I dont think Dicks refills compressed air, but i'd call and ask to make sure.

if you have and academy sporting goods store they refill CO2 but if your willing to pay for it go for the N2 or HPA you'll be happier in the long run...and with HPA the Ion is a good gun IMO

You need to run HPA with the ION. Anti-siphon CO2 is a second alternative however if liquid CO2 makes it into the gun you will be faced with a large problem. The liquid CO2 will wreck your solenoid.

The gun will be functional with CO2 and an A/s tube, but will perform much better and last much longer on HPA. If you stick with CO2, try to grab a palmers stabilizer for it. Not only will the gun shoot more consistently, that regulator is well known for keeping CO2 out of the marker it's attached to.

Also please try searching, and consider the alternatives that are out there to the ion....
