Your friend is full of ****. All of the standard markers on TODAY's market, can Reach 300 fps. If they are chronged right they both will shot 300 fps. So no, his 98 does not shoot HARDER than your spyder.

agreed, they wouldnt make one gun shoot 150 fps (thats pretty low) and one at 300 FPS.. Considering the fact that you ADJUST your velocity, I suggest to chrono it. They sell handheld chronos for like 70$

He may have his velocity turned up higher than yours. That would actually make it shoot harder than yours. I suggest both of you take your markers to your local shop/field get them chrono'd and adjust them to the correct speeds.

I have seen markers out of the box shoot way different speeds so your friend might be right. That is if yall haven't messed with any velocity adjustments.

If it's shooting harder it's been turned up, probably as high as it will go. That is not a safe condition, and I suggest you refuse to play with him until you have them chronographed.

I've seen a trend recently of "He-man" kids in this sport. The safety rules are ther for a reason, and pulling a Mike Gundy to prove your "a man" is not worth spending the rest of your life as a gimp, or blind. Take it from someone who got hit with a life changing injury(not paintball related), that nearly left me with one foot, or dead. Your health is a precious thing, whether your ten or a hundred. Don't live in a shell and be afraid to take a chance, but don't do something you know is going to hurt you to show off. It's not a pleasant thing to have a doctor tell you the odds of amputating your foot, or that you could die, are about 50/50. don't get stuck in a situation like that one cause you think your indestructible...

Like I stated above, you can buy a handheld chrono for $70. I bought a Custom Chronograph X Radar Deluxe Handheld Chronograph obviously from Actionvillage. It works great if your playing around the house. Better safe than sorry. And also stated above, play at SAFE velocitys, dont act tough. Oh, and, make sure you keep your masks on at all times unless you all regroup and are off the field.
