Sorta new to the sport
Hey all. I am new to these forums but have looked around a few times before. I have gone paintballing maybe 10 times and cant get enough of it. I first had a spyder victor 2 and then got my current gun, my 98 custom pro. I really like it and have a 14 inch barrel for it. I want to upgrade to either a response trigger or an e grip but i dont know the difference. I just want to shoot faster than a hard to pull semi auto. what is the difference between the two? and be patient, i know nothing about paintball guns.

Response trigger fires on the pull and release of the trigger, essentially giving you two shots per trigger pull.
E-Grip, you get a board, pancake noid, and a battery, much lighter trigger pull, and you get the options things like semi, full auto, 3-round burst, and response if I'm not mistaken.
Both upgrades are rather expensive though, would rather save up for something else, and if you're getting faster bps, it's going to do you no good if you don't have a hopper that can keep up.

Depends on what you want really, it's personal preference.

Get urself a good inexpensive Electronic marker like an Ion and use your tippman for woodsball etc.. You will end up spending more modding your tippman..

well all i have done so far is play woodsball. should i keep my tippmann and get another electronic gun or just keep the 98 the way it is.
i was also thinking that because if i bought a $100 e grip and then an electric hopper, i would have spent 200+ just on upgrading when i could have bought a gun for the same price.

I had to make the same choice (expect i gotta A-5)heres the thing. the rp (response trigger) does not give you a TRUE full auto. it bounces the trigger back. it takes some real practice to get it down(i still suck at it). with rp your regular trigger pulling speed gets way faster but still is semi auto.(so you can get away with it on fields that don't allow full auto. finaly Rt is more duralbe. BUT rt does use more air and is not as fast as egrip. you will have a little air tube on the side.
EGRIP has five firing mode(find the modes online) Since you got a 98 you can only do 8 BPS so you should get response. plus if it gets wet your done. with the response you are still gona need a electric hopper
STAY WITH TIPPMANN FOR WOODS BALL ( i read your other comment) go with rp you wont regret it.

With the response grip properly adjusted, it shoots both with the pull AND release of the trigger, so you get two shots per trigger pull.
Let me repeat; TWO SHOTS PER TRIGGER PULL!!!
A good electro hopper is a good idea though
