Hello, my name is jason, I Was HEAVILY into paintball about 4 years ago then i enlisted in the army and am comming home from deployment and me and the wife decided to get started up. so i am gonna list some stuff that i am contemplating buying in hopes maybe someone can help correct my noobiesm. Ah returning paintball players... you're now where i was about 6 months ago, lots of new lingo to learn.

I personally like what you selected there. I'm sure there might be some that differ.

Compressed air is similar to nitro, both gaseous under the pressure they're held in the tanks at (unlike CO2), which under certain conditions has its advantages over CO2, but it won't have you shoot any longer than CO2 (efficiency is about the same unless you have an efficient marker), so it's just different but most players prefer HPA nowadays. Both will do for high pressure markers, and i believe high pressure HPA steelies can hold both nitro and air no problem (correct me if i'm wrong, i do not use HPA because it's expensive where i'm at so i stick with CO2).

I like the trilogy pro, good choice. There's other markers that are in some respects better than the trilogy pro, but i like it and if you like it and you know cockers then you're set. The mask, hopper and tank look good as well. Now make sure you're getting good deals on the prices.

Nothing wrong with a cocker. I wouldn't grab a trilogy though....look for WGP to be selling off some pro-stocks, or some superstocks dirt cheap. Resale is also dirt cheap....go check PBN, mccarterbrowm, and customcockers BST sections.

There are lot's of really cheap guns floating around used in good shape....

i see... well i like and have owned cockers in the past but i woudln't own one again since they're complicated markers, more complicated than say a spyder or a tippmann anyway. I recently bought a used diablo mongoose, a spyder clone, and i'm loving it because it's electronic, crazy fast and really simple; but then again i only play goof around with recball once or twice a month. It'll depend a lot on the use you wish to give your marker and how much cash you have.

By all means if you're serious go for an ego, angel or a dm8 or something of the sort. If not, go cheap but you could do a little bit better than the trilogy and get something like a promaster which is only slightly more expensive.

The cocker isn't a good idea. 4 years ago they were the "in" thing but now they are out dated and unreliable by today's standard. Most company's have stopped making cockers, Even WGP has gotten away from the orginal cocker with the big neumatics in the front and so on.

I'll suggest looking at an invert mini, a Dangerous Power Fusion or G3. These markers are pretty nice. Alot faster than the cocker, better on gas, and more durable.

Also for all general purposes, nitrogen and compressed air are the same thing. If you go to a feild you'll always get compressed air.

I have a really open budget, i meant not to buy a 1k gun but i am willing to spend a piece of change on a marker. I got help from poster txaggie08 and he hooked me up with a nice Proto Rail package so i belive i am gonna go with that and get a board.

I just orderd that same marker from that same place, great deal you'll be loving it, just make sure you get a hopper that can keep up with it and a good tank.

You are getting an excellent gun in the Rail. I have owned mine and love it. Plus once you break the gun in you can do the "Tophat Mod" to the stock bolt and drop your dwell a little bit as well as get some other perks.

Cp tanks, Guerrilla Air just released a nice one, DXS sells basically the same tank as CP. Crossfire, pure energy.

If you wish to go on the cheap, go for kenny's suggestion, guerrilla air has a 48/3000 steel tank for $50. As for hoppers there's lots of choices. Have a look at the empire and the odyssey hoppers, they're really nice. If you don't want to spend as much money, have a look at the egg shaped viewloader evolution 3 which is also kinda nice.

Don't get the evolution hopper, the eye force is a lot better and is cheaper. As for the steel tank look away from them as well, try to stick to Carbon Fiber tanks given they are WAY lighter and can hold more pressure
