what gun would you suggest?
hello,I am new to the forum but have been paintballing for about a year. I play mostly fieldball but occasionaly speedball. I want to upgrade my gun to something faster, less chopping, and more accurate. I know there is no miracle gun that does both types of play well. Ok so my question is what gun would you recomend for mainly feild play but would be decent in speedball? I would rather not spend more than $500. I have been reading that to get a high rate of fire at a consistant pressure I will need to switch to hydrogen, soin that $500 I would need to buy a new tank aswell so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Whats included in that price? You'll want a halo or vlocity jr (or a similar fast hopper). A 68/45 hpa tank and of course the gun. You'll notice a great improvement buying anything with eyes.
Promasters are dirt cheap right now but I recommend against them because the company that makes them is out of business. New Pm7s are 450 which is a great price if you already have a good hopper and tank. The rail is pretty good at only 275. Of course there's always the invert mini (I've heard both great and terrible things about this gun)
I don't recommend anything smart parts because of their terrible business ethics.

Why does everyone hate Smart Parts? They are good guns and can take a beating even though thaey are mostley made of plastic. The only bad things on Smart parts are leaking problems but those can be easily fixed.

PMR se, they are getting hard to find in any color other then camo though. As for hopper you can't go wrong with a Eye force from VL.

I would say every company has its downfalls in ownership, but the markers they make are still good.

I can't even count the number of Ion's I've seen broken down. Including a couple that are broken more often then they work.

99.987 of Ion's down are because of the owners fault. My friend Josh has had his since they came out, Lubed once by me because I felt bad for it and it has shot nothing but faces the whole time he has owned it with only a new trigger, feedneck, and black heart board in it.

Yeah just ship it back if it fails. Though for the money I would sport a little more and just get a Invert Mini because at least if they fail I know they will take it back and replace it.

"thaey" are not great guns and most aren't (or at least weren't). Its their business ethics like I stated. But their guns aren't anything special either (besides the fact that they're cheap).
Read up on the smart parts lawsuits and patent cases. Then you'll understand.
Most ions go down from user error. But that doesn't mean they don't go down more than they should. My friend has one and the board fried, always took great care of it and had nice upgrades.
