Let me know how you like it when you get it up and running, what air system (Co2 or air) and other goodies you got.

Thanks and good luck, have fun!

I got Co2, also when I got a battery just tried out the fire modes and guess what, they don't work only the semi works, and on the box it clearly says that it is burst/auto/semi. Also there are like chips everywhere on the gun hmmm, I even found some rust around the rail. That's really sick seriously, it looks like it's a old one that was refurbished and that they putted in another box, also no where in the manual it's mentionned that there are burst or auto modes, there's only a sticker on the outerbox. When I received the box it was also not shrinkwrapped (it is normally?). Anyway I'm having hard time on my first marker bought and that's turning me down a lot. No more online shopping for me anything electronic I guess . If anyone had any similar issues I'd like to know what you did. For the moment I sent a e-mail to both badlandspaintball and smart parts, I also called Badlands but they were closed. Anyway I hope it get fixed. I just noticed I say way too much anyway but I wen't to the store and got myself a fasta spyder hopper it says 15 bps that should be good enough, I also got a save phace mask, looks good and I also got to try it not like other shops where they didn't have any to try.

Iv'e noticed lately that in the hurry to package a larger amount of paint/product (sp and other companys) thay they are not completly packaging the product correctly (ie sp is packaging there new sp1 so fast they are forgetting parts such as the marker, barrel, manual(s) the foam block that keeps the parts seperated durring shipping)

We got an order in the hardware store the other day (about $10,000 worht of merch from a single supplier) and about half was damaged, defective, or completly the wrong item as what we ordered so need less to say out of $10,000 only about $3,000 went on to the shelf. thats alot to say when you do about $24,000 worth of business each week so were out of alot of merch untill next thursday (no we don't get billed for the damaged, defective items and the wrong item will be returned next wednesday and credited to our account)

heres a post i wrote on another forum concerning sp and there new sp1

what it sounds like is that badlands had it setting in the wrong spot ie under a leaky roof i would call them again durring there business hours and tell them about your problem.

If they care about doing business with customers they'll make it right if not i would contact the bbb in there state and report them for fraud (if the marker was advertised as new if it was sold as a refurb/used there is no warrenty/responsibilty on there part and you are out $$$) since the gun is probably new you should also attempt to go through smart parts there usually quick to respond to customer complaints as in customer relations are 100% of there business

sorry if i am rambling on about this but sp (for the most part) marek reallr good pb "stuff" and it always sad to hear when a customer is dissatisfied with there products i use a 14" sp progressive barrel on my autococker and am very pleased with it's performance.

as far as the shrink wrap goes if my local pb shop sells a pb gun he open's it up to make shure it's the correct gun and that all the parts are there
if he is mailing it he makes shure it is in working order (ie he put's the batteries in, air's it up,and fired 5 or 6 paint balls through it

If everything is coposstic it's shipped out that day if it's after 5pm it goes out the next morning.

dont fret about the little things just go on to YouTube - Smart Parts SP1 Select-Fire Demonstration

great video that describes how to change the firing modes on an sp1 i couldn't find these on sp website how weird is that.

Ok first of all 'READ YOUR MANUAL'
clearly you missed the part about taking out your battery, holding down the fire button, and re-attaching the battery to get the fire modes. The gun does not come in shrink-wrap, just a box inside a box. As for the screws not being there that is a problem. Are you sure you looked everywhere? And next time, go to your local paintball store and buy instead of online.
There is a Badlands 25min from me and they are the best paintball store around. its weird that this happened. Maybe it was one of the stores from the East Coast.

Sorry to hear about your issues but I confident SP will make it right. The store you got it from online should just replace it outright with the rust and all. Of course coming from a retail management background I would always place the customer first and get a new one out to you and just have SP replace the one you first received.

Good luck to you and let us know how it goes...

I read the whole manual like 5 times there is nothing but nothing that talks about holding the the trigger to unlock the modes, and yes I checked everywhere and they are just not there, I got in contact and they told me I'm not the first one and that they are soon to send me some. Thanks for everyone that helped me. Finnaly tried it out and it works great.

http://www.smartparts.com/Manuals/SP1_QuickStart.pdf

this is the only manual that comes with the sp1
