can't go wrong with the 98c in the way of woodsball, i've had mine for years now and still lovin it works perfectly stock out of the box, but can be greatly improved with some hard work and $$, but its really too bulky for serious speedball, although you can get the 98 custom pro electronic package which will go full auto...

haven't heard much about the mr1, but what i have heard wasn't good

I havent heard much about the E-MR1, but the MR1 (non eletric) has a very solid build. The 98 isnt a bad gun, but for speedball its not too fast and its really long. If you have the money, id go with a Spyder VS1. Its 10 dollars more than the MR1 and its a great gun.

If your getting the E-MR1 cause it has a stock, a stock will only get in the way, paintball guns dont have that kind of recoil to move you at all.

EDIT: And theres going to be a lot of people that come in here saying "Dont get a spyder, those suck, get an ION" dont listen to their non sense. The VS1 is good enough for a new/novice player, it can use CO2 and HPA.

Wow, good for you. I bet you are just so excited! Just because you have it doesnt mean everyone else wants it.

EDIT: Nope your suggestion was fine..

the 98 for sure. I'd take it way before the old spyder or the Sp-1.

Personally, I'd suggest the Tippy 98. But that's just my personal preference. If it's your first marker, go with whatever you feel you need. If you're gonna play just woodsball the Tippmann is fine. If you want something electronic that has a high rate of fire, get a Spyder VS series. I wouldn't suggest getting an SP-1, if you're gonna go Smart Parts you need some extra cash to go ahead and get an Ion or SP-8. But if your price range is under 200, the Tippmann is a solid woodsball marker and the Spyder is a decent electronic. If you have any friends that own either marker, go ahead and try it out if at all possible.

If your getting the E Trigger get a good hopper, dont buy a cheap gravity feed, those will not feed fast enough.

Action Village is a very good place to get your guns. They have cheap prices and have fast shipping. Their walk in store is 10 minutes away from me, and we go there every weekend.

I honestly have to say it's overpriced for what you get. The VS1 will be just as fast, just as good at woodsball, able to use co2 still like the 98, WAY BETTER if you play any airball/speedball, just as easy to maintain, and a bit less expensive.

The only downer to that is that the vs1 isn't custom misible as the 98. Am I right?

And what bps does the vs1 have?

Customizable for looks maybe.

Yeah, you can do mods to Spyders all day long but in the end, Tippmanns are always more customizable.
Some will argue that Tippmann mods are all for looks and that performance is often not improved, but in the end I'd rather have a marker I can trick out and customize than a marker I can't do much to out of the box.

I'd rather have a gun that isn't loud, slow, a gas-hog, and so long that I can't tuck into bunkers myself. I used to have a Tippman, but would never get one anymore. Other guns are simply too much better for less money.
If customizeability is paramount, yes, get the Tippman. If performance, efficiency or anything means anything to you, Tippman should be last on your list.
