Aiming

So, I recently went paintballing with a few friends, and borrowed a 98 Custom from a buddy one round. The next round, I had to use one of the regular old field guns (I don't know what they were called, sorry.)

They were relatively comparable for the ranges we where firing at, and the hoppers where the same size and all. However, the 98 Custom was far easier to aim- the hopper was set somewhat to the side of the gun barrel and had a basic sight along the barrel. The gun that I used the second time had the hopper feeder thing directly above the barrel, and had no sights. Tips on how to direct my fire? I'm going to the same range again on Sunday.

Thanks.

If the field has top fed markers, then you must aim down the site of the marker. Put the tank against your shoulder, the marker body at eye level (which will have the hopper a bit higher than your mask) and try to get a sense of where you're shooting by looking straight down the side.

I always just watch where my shots go and adjust from there when shooting semis and when I'm rocking the pump I just know from practice that I'm pointing in the right direction.

Almost all markers now have Center feed necks. Paintball markers are not accurate enough to site in and in fact the 98 sites are their for show, not for use.

You just have to get used to shooting a paintball marker. Usually you adjust your aim a little when you see where your hitting.

just see where the paint is going and adjust where you're shooting accordingly
