Do I need an E-Gun?

Hey. I'm trying to decide what gun to get. It will be my first one. I play speedball. I am not going to be playing in tournaments, just on weekends with my friends. My question is do I need an e-gun?I will be playing a lot. I think I'll either get an xtra if I don't want an electric, or a vs2 if I do. Someone needs to convince me on what to get. I have honestly no idea.

Do you NEED one? No. You can go out and play speedball with a pump and if you're good enough you'll still win. That said, it's a LOT easier with an electro, and some days you just don't want to use skill, and on those days being able to lay a nice wall of paint is certainly helpful. You can always single shot an electro if you don't wanna waste paint...but with a mech, you can only get it to shoot so fast.

The problem with speedball is that most people are shooting electronic markers and they aren't going to go easier on you because you aren't.

For weekends with friends it doesn't matter if it's electronic or not. As tmiller said, you can play speedball with a pump if you like, won't make much difference. But indeed, if you want to keep up with the constant spraying, you'll need electronic.
