Which Chest Protector is better...
In your opinion which one is better?
Empire Ground Pounder Chest Protector
Empire Ground Pounder Chest Protector | Paintball Review | pbreview.com
or
Proto Chest Protector
Proto Chest Protector 2007 | Paintball Review | pbreview.com
These are the 2 i have decided between. I don't want a big and bulky one like the Redz chest protector. Just something to stop some of the purple welts, and is tight fitting like a 2nd skin. If you do have another opinion of a better one please give me your choice between the 2and then your better one opinion.
Thank you very much!
P.S. I know I may be a pussy to some of you hardcore guys, but keep in mind I'm new and I'm not the type to hide all game. SOOO some of you hardcore guys use me as a walking target. But I'd rather learn than hide all game. So if I'm going to get lit up like a Christmas tree i want some protection. My back is F-ing KILLING ME!

The Proto looks to be better. If you can find an evel older model, like an 06 version or something, it could be even cheaper and still give you ample protection

They are both great brands but I'm going to cast a vote for the Empire just because I'm an Empire fanboy everything with their name on it is excellent.

Thank you for the useless postes! I could care less how "Manly" you are because you don't wear them. Plus last time i checked no woman has ever said "Wow you play paintball you must be a real man!".
I want to wear one and i could careless how much of a **** that makes me. I know there are A LOT of you guys out there that wear them because they fly off the shelves (says my 3 local PB pro shops.).
So i just wanted some advice from people who have worn both or any to give me an idea.
Thank you,

Wow take it easy...it was a joke get used to them.
If you are that interested in a chest protector why dont you just go to the 3 local pro shops and see which models they sell out the fastest and which ones they recommend. Each location is different, you wouldn't want to where a heavy, bulky one in florida where you will sweat a million litres.

dont worry they are just now finding out that these things called "women" exist, i dont wear one but i will respect you all the same if you have one or not, personally though i think you might find that it limits your free movement more than the protection is worth, before you comit to buy one go play with a few layers on (long sleeve shirt and jacket for example) and see if that is plenty for you,
and boys, just because you are covered in welts doesnt mean a woman will think its cool, maybe a girl will but the women in this world like to be able to hold you or be held without inflicting pain or having you turn away, the second you say outch and turn away is the second that she doesnt like you being covered in welts

Honestly, i've been playing since I was 13 (that was 11 years ago) and the only time i ever felt the need for one was before the very first time I played. Once i got hit the first time thouhg, i realized it wasnt' so bad.
I can understand the need for children to have them as they have a lower tolerance to pain and have the fear of it still.
Lets keep the whole woman thing out of this thread as it has no relevance

Watch the language. fixed-martix
Personally, I've never used a chest protector and haven't seen the need to. Of course it will hurt the instant you get hit unless it's on a hard surface (your mask, shoe, etc) but it's not permanent damage.
If you're still interested in one of the two you posted, I'd go with the Proto. Since it's sleeveless it will give you a bit more freedom of movement, and by the looks of the pictures it has more padding than the Empire.
