Monster Balls - Are they really that bad?
Monster Balls are the cheapest that I can find in my area. Its either going $30 for 2000 of them, or $60 for 2000 of some other brand.
I've heard a lot of cons towards Monster Balls and I was curious to know if they were really that bad during play.
The biggest con being that they don't break upon impact as often as the "higher end" paint.

yeah i use monsterballs but i only use them for rec ball, shooting around in my yard, etc.... Let me just say these balls are pretty crappy and the shells are thick so they dont really break. the yellow fill is thin and runny so i assume it would be easy to wipe. They have more dimples than a golfball right outta the bag. overall...they suck.

Some fields even go on to ban the stuff, since it just isn't fun to shoot it and get no breaks, and to get hit by it and have it hurt like a ***** since it doesn't break.
Just don't buy the stuff, it's not worth it.

The fact that they don't break should be a good enough reason to not buy them because bounces don't count. I don't know why everyone always thinks it is okay to cheap out on paint a consistent air source and quality paint is more important to your game than a new marker or expensive barrel kit.

ya the hole point is to get breaks on people, not to mention having the ball fly straight, so if this paint does neither......well my question is why bother? good paint costs a bit more, but its gennerally for a good reason

Monsterballs, and wal-mart paint in general, are the worst paint in the world. They sit in a warehouse for over a year before they hit the shelves. Nuf said?

First off i buy all my paint @ wal-wart so don't just generalize that all wal-mart paint sucks the cheap **** does ie stryker and monsterball i buy and have bought visible impact since i started playing (at least for practice games) $35 a case with employee discount ($41 after tax for no discount) i go through roughly a case a weekend.
as far as accuracy i can place 6/10 shots through a 3"x3" hole from 30' with my cocker (i attribute 2-3 of the out of place shots to Co2)
Slightly less shots on target with my View loader (due to low quality barrel) with Co2 so accuracy isn't an issue.
Roundness/dimples are not an issue as i always check my paint before i buy it
If some one has a problem with you opening the merchandise just explain what you are doing i have never had a problem with opening cases of paint since i explained what i was doing.
I have shot monster ball on several occasions due to it seldom breaks and is a great ref tool as you can shoot a cheating opponent/teammate several times with no breaks and they usually call them selves out
here is my overall review of monster ball (this is the cardboard box of 2000)
if you buy monster ball do not buy the 2000 count in the plastic tub unless you intend to dump the paint out as they are generally really hard (as in a solid rubber ball)
as far as monster ball goes it's cheap
due to a thicker shell they seldom break
The fill is quite easy to wipe as it is kinda thin color is not the brightest
Size is an issue as they are smaller than .67 so they are generally not going to travel well out of an un restricted barrel (ie most stock barrels even a barrel kit mignt have problem) heres a link to paint barrel sizing
packaging is a little tight bags are slightly vacuum sealed so balls are tight packed in to each other (box of 2000 is considerably smaller than most other paint)\/refer to Shelf Life to see problem with packaging
Shelf life is rather long as most people tend to stay away from them as they don't break so you get out of round balls or balls with dimples

Hellfire is just a lil top of the line for what he is doing lol. xball bronze will be perfect, just stay away from the RL practice paint. That **** is just boxes of rocks with creme filling.

Nelson paint is looking good for me. All I need to do now is look into some Markers. Since I'm fairly new, and I dont talk to any of my old friends who used to play, I'm clueless. I don't want to go out and purchase a marker that I'll end up hating right away. I wish there were demo's or something I could try.
Anybody have any tips for me?

I have used Monsterballs before and will never use them again. I put them in my pods and had to throw two of them away. They break really easy in pods. NEVER use them!
