Timmies are nice cheap options.
Miller- I have to COMPLETELY disagree with you on the A-1. I found the G7 platform to be a much more solid shooter, and there are several other poppits on the market I would put shooting as good or better than the A-1's, with a whole lot fewer quality control issues.
IMO, if your looking to break in on a used gun, the 05+ timmies are hard to beat. There are parts available for them everywhere, the gun is not difficult to work on, it's dependable, and you find them used all the time for ~250$.

G7 over STANDARD A1, most definitely. I very much am not a huge fan of the standard A1. It's lighter so you can feel the kick, it's got spool level efficiency. Only nice things is the board rocks and the trigger isn't horrible. Over magno'd, not a chance. Magno'd A1 is what actually managed to get me to start using Angels. If you can't tell, I'm not a fan of poppet valves. Marq's, Mini's and Magno'd A1's are basically the only ones I can stand to shoot because of how comparitively smooth those 3 are. I've shot everything from Egos to timmies to droids to Vikings, and Magno'd A1 simply shoots smoother than anything else I've ever touched that uses a Poppet valve.
As far as Marq's, I'd have to disagree with you there. Once set up, I've never seen issues with Marq's. Other than being higher maintenance than Intimidators, they've in my experience been very much a set and forget marker like there more well-known brothers. And much smoother. My one buddy down in Florida has had like 3 of the suckers, and I know at least 1/2 dozen people here locally that have/had them, not including myself. And more that I just have randomly run into that use them.
