Question about my "New" Used Spyder

Hey,
I am going to try to get into playing paintball so I bought a nice used Spyder Compact 2000 marker with a VL hopper and a 20oz Co2 tank. I have the tank mounted underneath as seen in the photos. I do not have that part (expansion chamber I think) that carries the Co2 throgh a line. With the tank mounted this way, will the gun work? I do not have any Co2 right now so I cant try it. Also, could someone point out a cheap kit to make the take come out the back?

-Thanks

It'll work fine
Might be a bit hard to aim since you have nothing to push into your shoulder to add stability, but it'll work

Compacts that old never came with bottomlines, CO2 bottles attached to the vertical asa like on yours. It is imperative on these markers that you keep both striker and bolt lubricated at all times and that you clean it well after every single game. And remember, it's not an ego, you can't shoot much more than 3 balls per second unless you want to start blending paint in your barrel.

Other than that you'll be fine, those are very solid markers, my compact is a little older and still works like a charm.

You might find that the 20oz is a bit heavy after playing a few games. You may want to consider getting a few 9oz tanks and switching them out regularly between games.

or just find a bottomline asa which is what he is looking for....

Bottom Lines: ActionVillage.com Paintball Store

here is a bunch on actionvillage, they have different lengths so you will have to get a rough measurement of how long the hose needs to be. also make sure and look at the bottom of your gripframe, i know some spyders have a different bolt pattern for asas than the standard 2 hole which is what the ones in the link i gave you are (2 holes in a straight line, sometimes spyders have two holes that dont line up with the rest of the marker)

edit: crap i just realized all those ones on actionvillage are out of stock, i did find some regular braided steel and worst case is you could piece one together yourself.

Paintball, Skateboard, BMX, Airsoft, Apparel and Snowboard Gear at ActionVillage.com

Fore Grips: ActionVillage.com Paintball Store

^for grips, and the ASA would be up to you

if you dont care about the color difference AND ONLY IF your marker has the spyder specific holes on the bottom of your gripframe (2 holes not in line with the marker) here is an expansion chamber with a braided hose and ASA already attached,

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will use it as is for a few games, then, if I feel the need, I will upgrade it.

-Thanks

I would just use it as is. Save your money from upgrades and put it into paintballs or money toward a new marker. This is a great starting marker, but not a good one to dump money into on upgrades.
