BTW i am willing to buy used so keep that in mind for price good gun used = less money
Well, for starters, punctuation always helps
If people have a hard time reading, they usually stop and move on, so your questions may not get answered.
For $400 you can get some really nice mechs, look into Automags
I believe Riddler can help you with any Automag questions
The sky's the limit with a $400 budget. You have your choice of a great many terrific mechs for that price. Ultimately it will come down to personal preference, but I'd look at mags, cockers, and palmers (or a pump if you want a bit more of a change of pace).
Edit: but yeah, I'd be glad to help with any specific questions you may have. Otherwise my best advice is to do what's fun.
why do you need a hopper and tank if you are already shooting a 98? just use the tank and hopper you have on those for starters
mechanical i would say a mag or cocker
e marker though i would say look into the vibe, co2 friendly and some pretty good preformance

If you plan to play any speedball you should look into getting an HPA tank instead of co2. They're more consistant and most fields give all day air included in entry rather than having to pay for each co2 fill. As far as the gun goes you should look into a mini or an older marq. Ive had a marq and they're really efficent, and from what i heard second gen minis have had very positive reviews. GL
<3 the minis, anywho, I'd look into the Mags. Great guns. If you're into scenario, i'd look into the a5 or the BT-4. nice upgrades for either ones are available. Just my 2c.
The best mechs out is the automag but if you're going to run co2, you CAN NOT run the lvl 10 bolt or x-valve which are the best things for the mag. The older bolts are okay, but not near as nice and have no anti-chop.
If you're going to stick with Co2, you're kinda stuck.
Not a classic valve on CO2. I love mags myself but I've never liked how they work on CO2 even a tiny bit of liquid and they freeze right up. For what it's worth you can use a level 10 bolt with a classic valve with no problems the Xvalve comes stock with the level 10 but isn't the only valve compatible with it.
