I patented a new pistol target, but

I'm not a paintball shooter by trade, but I need an opinion. I designed a new target for target practice with standard pistols and rifles. It's all washable plastic with ten Inter-targets that move when stuck. As I used it on the target range it occured to me that a Seasoned Paintball shooter with an good aim might enjoy it also.
Because I'm not a professional paintballer,
I'm looking for ideas and opinions on my target. And comments from real shooters who have been in the sport for a while.
Please be nice. Paintball is a serious sport -
My website is:
Target Box Information
Thanks,
Dave

wow that seems to be a great target. I'd love to number the targets and on draw have them annouce the numbers you need to shoot..

Anyway with the target and paintball.... I don't know about it working. Most people don't need a target. Paintball markers are not near as accurate as even pistols so there is no need to sight them in. Currently only an extreme senerio group of paintball even has sights on there markers and even fewer actually use them.

So I suggest not really advertising to the paintball community, there just isn't a big enough market for it.

If you where going to though, You may need to increase the size of the targets and make the surfaces easy to clean as paint will get everywhere.

Very nifty idea!
But as Kaz said, maybe not for the paintballer

Maybe if you just market it as an extra feature (ALSO GREAT FOR THE EVERYDAY PAINTBALLER!) it could help

Agreed. You aren't accurate enough with paintball guns to need one. It's a very good idea though. I also agree with the airsoft. They would probably be more interested in it than paintball people.

Thank you guys! I had no idea - I'll check out airsoft(?) right now. What about the target with say four, 4" colored targets? Or two, maybe, three 6"? Still too small? I really like the "Number on Each Target Circle" idea for pistol shooting competitions!!!! Thanks Kaz!

I don't think paintballers will be interested in targets of any sort. It's just not piratical for what we do.
I dunno about what airsoft guys would think, but you would have to make the moving parts out of a lighter material so the plastic pellet would still rotate it.

i think you could get some buyers with like 3 6" targets, a 6" target is pretty close to what someone will be aiming for out on the field anyway, if i think about it its roughly the size of someones head, or at least the area in which the paintball will break, anything outside of that and you will probably have bounces anyway.

It's not that i think it's too small or too big. I felel that shooting at a target liek this isn't going to be effective in translating to shooting out of the field.

there really isnt a need for a target in paintball, when you shoot a paintball gun, you can see where the paintball is going and adjust acordingly in a milli second for the next shot before your target has time to respond. kind of like "walking it" to your target.
