I went out with friends recently to play paintball for my first time on my birthday, and even though It was my first time I fell In love. The problem Is I know almost nothing about It and I need help on what to choose for equipment, I read around the site about different gun's for beginners and for a cheap price but I need everything for my budget.

I have 350$ to buy a pod pack, tank, hopper, and a gun. My friend gave me his old Invert Avatars because he never used them any more there's just a couple scratches on the lens and there's some paint In between the two pieces of the lenses. He said I should eventually buy a new lens that was a darker color but I don't know what kind of lens I would need to buy.

I know you guys have probably heard this story tons of times but I do really need help and I guess I shouldn't say I know nothing but I don't know anything about what to buy.

Hopper: Invert too or Eye force 50-60$
Mask: you can check ansgear.com for lens 10-15$ thats a good mask (Avatar).
Air: Need to find out weather you can fill (HPA or C02) You want to use HPA 68cu/4500psi. 100-160$
Pod pack: GXG tournament pack 18$
Markers: Vibe blackheart 220$, SLG 09 200$, Azodin blitz 160$ Spyder Electra all decent markers

Air & Hopper first since you have a good mask because if you get those in good quality it should last for a long time no matter what marker if you take care of them.

id go BH vibe and a WGP 68/4500 from actionvillage out of that list, those two will run you $320 together, throw a invert too on that and your a little over your budget at $370 and without a pack, so for now since the vibe can run on CO2 you could get a 20oz with a AS tube, that will run you around $40 and your total will be at $310, for the pack personally i love NXe packs and think there is none better out there, definatly check them out

but all together you should be able to stay right around $350 with a BH vibe, ASed 20 oz, invert too and a NXe pack and pods, i wouldnt worry about the mask untill it starts scratching up more

I was looking at the Invert Too which looks like the best buy for me, I can fill air where I'm at so an HPA tank but what brand should I get? The pod pack also seems like good buy.

I heard some pretty bad things about Smart Parts so I think I may just avoid them, the SLG is a sear tripper so that Isn't so good for the price and I haven't heard anything about Azodin but I will read up about them.

Is Smart Parts brand really worth It though? I just hear a ton of bad things about them. Also I would prefer air since It's a lot cheaper around here and It's just a ton better than Co2. What about Spyder? I heard that the VS1 Is supposed to be a decent gun but It's just older, and what's with the EW1 on ANS Gear It looks just like a VS1 but It's cheaper.

I guess the only definite things so far are:
Invert Too: 60$
WGP 68/4500: 100$ (Why Is It so cheap? Most are 150$)

Since your new to the sport I highly recommend a new marker those are two are probably the best for the money in that low end bracket.

Yeah probably a good Idea but I'm still not sure what gun to get. Is the Vibe really that good for the price? Does It need the extra money for the Blackheart? I can't find a good pod pack In either of those brands, looking for one that holds four vertically for 30$.

Ansgear.com has a gxg 4+5 deluxe pack for 20 bucks I use one now and it comes with pods, check out the XO packe their 14$. The Black Heart Vibe on ebay cost 220$ and the board and eyes is already installed, I never used it I have a SLG UL its a good marker but over priced the SLG basic would be a better pick. I brought my UL used and I had to send it to dye after 4 or 5 cases. and it took 2 weeks to get back (thats why I recommend a new marker).

if you are looking at the SLG you might as well get the EW1, they are both sear tripped markers, performance will be very close.

the vibe is a very good marker for the price, normal vibe is around $150, no eyes but a low force bolt to avoid chops, performance wise it is in the mid range. it is essentially a ion XE without eyes that can run on CO2. the two markers that stick out value wise right now under $300 are the EW1 and the vibe, choice is up to you, both will me great for a beginner, vibe will perform better but is it worth an extra $90? thats up to you

I was thinking about getting a friend one for a frist marker he's ten and its only 60 bucks when I researched It I couldn't find nothing on it though.

ya thats because the ew1 has just come out, unless im wrong nobody on here has even touched one yet, but seeing as they are a re-branded vs1 just research the vs1

but heres the jist, VS1 is a great entry level marker that offers a standard low maintenance design with a e-frame and eyes. it is a good design and $60 for a marker with e-frame and eyes is unheard of.

Thats what I thought untill I turned the rof from like 5bps to 10bps on my fish rampage it choped a whole lot and the velocity was super low 245fps at its highest setting(maybe becuase of spring or my HPA tank) that pissed me off. I paid 47 bucks brand new in the box it had eyes massive modes and adjustable rof. I just sold it for 70 buck. I want something better cheap but decent quality for my friend. Do the vs1 chop out of the package?

well first of all thats a fish, a poor grade STBB, iv never heard a report of the eyes in the vs1 not working, as long as your not shooting crappy/old paint you should not have a problem
