[First Gun] BT4 Swat

Hi guys,

Im new in the paintball world, Went out and brought a BT4 Swat, I was talking to the guy about what i should get for my paintball gun so this is my setup..

BT4 SWAT
- BT eGrip
- BT Rip-Clip
- Tippman Flatline

Gun goes really well, What is the best way to "tune" the gun to make sure that im not using too much gas or not enough, How do you "tune" your gun to get it at its best?

Thanks

To tune a mech blowback you need a spring kit, chronograph and a boatload of patience.

i suggest staying away from the rip clip and the flatline, you can get much better electronic loaders than the rip clip, and the flatline does not give you any additional range, dont buy into the advertising hype it does not do as promised, also has some pretty crappy accuracy due to the fact that it puts backspin on the ball.

i say forget that overpriced swat, look into the SP1 if you want a milsim marker that performs well. it will blow the swat away and be much less expensive and have a e-frame stock

I have already purchase the gun package, In regards to the flat-line what brand would you recommend to get? I do play a lot of wood-ball.

ya im awake now, as for flatline i say forget putting spin on the ball at all, get a J&J ceramic, its $30 and will, IMO be way better than any barrel that puts spin on the ball. it will be cheaper, lighter, and will shoot out breaks very well (something that not even high end, very expensive barrels do well) some people argue that a flat trajectory is better in the woods, this is not the case, sure sometimes it will help but there are plenty of other times when a flat trajectory will hurt you, trying to hit someone over a bush or a hill for example when the arc of the ball will actually be helping you.

I shall ring my local paintball supplier and see if the item is avaliable here in New Zealand, Is there any other parts you'd recommend i get for a better performance?

I had a look at reviews done on that barrel and it looks pretty sweet so far! Really appreciate the advise you are giving me, Cant wait to see how well it performs

Your BT seems pretty well kitted out I'd just make sure to have a good mask and a nice harness to haul your extra paint around.

agreed^^^

on/off asa is a very nice thing to have, if your running co2 it will take a little figuring with braided steel hose though, beyond that switch to HPA if you can get a fill around you and if you want more performance after that it will be time to get a new marker

I'd say 14" or 16". Anything over 16" is just a waste of money. I'd go with a 16". That's what's on my Tippmann, and I love it.

for a marker as long as a bt i say 12 or 14 but not 16 thats just too crazy long

on off asa will work essentially the same as your remote i didnt realize you were running one, if it vents out pressure when you turn it off then it is essentially a on/off asa

I have a sticky here explaining the flatline and other backspin barrels
I also personally hate all backspin barrels since they tend to be less accurate because of what they do

J&J rocks, can't go wrong with them

A spring kit lets you mechanically set your dwell
You will get better efficiency and a smoother shot with a porperly tuned gun

just cuz he sold it to you doesnt mean he knows what he is talking about, iv run into tons of people who have played paintball for years and still do not now how their marker actually works

tippmann did a really good job advertising the flatline but that does not mean its a good barrel
