Bought an alpha black tippman and for the first time of using it and playing i don't think it was shooting right reason being opponents kept dodging my paint balls they could actually move before getting hit is there a problem with my gun?
Paintballs are large and travel at relatively low velocities I've even caught a few on the field shot by noobies that were way out of range. The big question here is how far away were you? If you are anything like most new players you were probably out of range and assuming your paintball marker shoots like a real gun.
bad paint or low velocity, are you playing at a field or out in the back woods, and what paint are you using?

its something a friend built out on his open field he though some old boards together to make as shields i guess what you can call backyard paint balling. Also the paint I'm using is the JT paintballs bought at academey
Your problem is both of what trbo said. You are using bad/poor paint and your velocity is to low.
When we say "velocity" we are talking about how fast the paintballs are going when they leave your gun. They should be traveling at 300 feet per second or a little less. If people could dodge your balls at 15 yards, your paintballs where probably traveling at around 100 feet per second.
You need to turn up your velocity. In order to do this, you need to turn your velocity adjustment screw out to allow more air flow. To find your velocity adjustment screw, look in your mannual or at an on-line one for your marker. YOu can find on-line ones at tippmann.com
Edit* Also make sure you have a full or almost full tank of co2 so you know thats not the problem.
anyone in the San Antonio area there's 2 paintball places I called about my gun and they both told me the same but which one should I take it to paintball mart or proshop paintball both in San Antonio

what did they tell you was wrong with it? go to either one and check how fast it is shooting; adjust it accordingly.

I think you're making this too big of a problem. Velocity is really nothing wrong with your gun. It sounds like you're freaking out and about to spend money to get this "fixed". Don't let anyone tell you theres a problem unless there really is... You could spend money you don't need to...
Go to Paintball Mart and get your velocity checked, they do it for either dirt cheap or for free
Never been to Paintball ProShop, but I'm assuming that they can do that for you as well
If you go paintballing at a field (which is what I'd reccomend), Knights has some really fun nightball on friday nights, but Krossfire is friendlier.
I personally play at Krossfire
Try and stay away from Academy paintballs and such. Krossfire sells great paintballs for cheaper than Academy.
If you must buy paintballs from there though, stick with Stinger and Cryptic for the cheap stuff. The Spyder paintballs and anything more expensive will also do well, but since it's from a big store, you never know how long it's been sitting in a wearhouse, just waiting to be shipped.
So in any case, get the gun chrono'd immediately, for safety reasons
