Today, most HPA tanks have a fixed, or preset, output pressure. The two most common varieties are fixed low pressure (~450psi output) and fixed high pressure (~850psi output), though there are a couple manufacturers that make middle pressures as well. A high pressure output tank is generally your best bet, as it will work on just about any paintball marker.

In the early days of HPA tanks for paintball, most bottles sported adjustable regs. These typically required specific cradles or dovetail mounts to attach to a marker. After the screw-in preset bottle was designed, it quickly became industry standard, due to the ease of use.

as far as a mask, you definitely need something with a thermal lens. V-force and JT masks are among the better options for players with glasses, though I'd suggest rocking contacts if possible.

personal preference there. shoot what you like.

i'm not a big flatline fan, myself. would rather have a nice barrel kit than fuss around with backspin.

If your interested in speedball/woodsball. maybe if you do a little of both go with the smart parts vibe/blackheart, if your into scenario i say SP-1. make sure you get a good loader first and try to get HPA

x-7 is the same as a a-5 with more plastic, and the a-5 is the same as the 98 with a blender on the side, basically tippmann is charging WAY (and caps does not emphasize that enough) too much money for a little extra metal and plastic.

you can EASILY get a marker that will blow the x-7 out of the water performance wise for a fraction of the cost. o and flatline is a piece of garbage, it does not give you any additional usable range (do not believe what tippmann wants you to believe) and has some pretty poor accuracy do to putting spin on the ball

my personal opinion on the x-7, first of all i dont care what a marker looks like, id rather have a well performing marker for a decent price than one that looks super cool but performs like crap, so my opinion on the x-7 while taking the price into consideration is its one of the largest piles of crap currently on the market

if tippmann ever gets this whole paintball thing figured out maybe we will start seeing some reasonably priced markers out of them, i doubt that though

I agree that new Tippmanns are WAY to expensive, but you can find nice used Tippmanns pretty cheap on paintball sites and Ebay. Personally, I like the X7. I'm looking into getting one, myself. Get what feels good to you.
