their argument was you CAN get used ones around $100

Again, a used mechanical marker for more than a Kaos. Might shoot better, but no thanks. While I wouldn't object to picking one up if I had any interest in buying a classic mech, but I'd never recommend one to someone new.

Hey, does anyone know if the V-Max works now?

I wouldn't trust it. They still haven't changed the design from what was flawed. There's a HUGE thread over on the nation where some guy posted information on EXACTLY what was causing the issues with the Vmax, and even posted how they could easily fix it. However, to my knowledge, they haven't.

Well that's a shame, I wanted a new loader for my TM-15 that has a "tacticalish" look. The rip-clip is fine but it has given me trobule in the past and I don't trust it anymore. I can choose between the Rotor, the Halo Too, and the V-Max. The Too is enormous, the Rotor is damn expensive, and the V-Max is crap, I guess I'm keeping the Rip-Clip .

Althought the V-Max's price is tentative, I can get it for $799 pesos, cheaper than the Too ($1499 Pesos).

I'm not sure if this is worth bringing up or mentioning - but... with my recent exposure to a more "Team practice" oriented setting - I'm getting to see, test, try, and play with a larger and wider variety of gear - some of which being on this list:

Masks - The three most common I see on the field are the eFlex/Vents, Dye i4, and the Sly Prophets. Comments about these three:

The Flex/Vents - I own a set. I generally like to crank down my mask to ensure it doesn't move, and that a seal is formed. While moving quickly, sliding or diving into a bunker, I sometimes hit the bottom lip of the mask, shifting the mask on my face slightly. I notice this happens far more frequently with the Flex, than with any other mask. Probably just me being paranoid - but I hate to think about the idea of my mask slipping off. It hasn't slipped more than a few centimeters, but..its been enough to switch me back to my i4's. Excellent breathabilty. Excellent hearing. Excellent visibility. Above average projection. My snake player can hear me from playing D-corner.

i4 - I own these as well. Again - I crank down my masks. This set doesn't move. Its a bit short, but I feel more confident wearing this than any other 'top ranked' mask on the list. Its exceptionally low profile...to the point of causing claustrophobia in some people - but it breathes very well and projects excellently. Wearing this mask - I've been told I'm calling too loud... from my opponents.

Sly Prophets - I haven't personally worn this mask - but I play with quite a few people who do. They argue that it is the most comfortable of the three, has the lowest potential to fog, most breathable, they feel least claustrophobic, and are most relaxed in it. My criticism for this is - I can't hear them, and they have difficulty hearing me. Knowing my corner mirror can hear me clear as day, but my front player is having issues...is frustrating...to say the least. Two or three times, they've tried to communicate their movements to me - and I couldn't hear them over the home player barking positional changes of the fronts. It seems the "muzzle" redirects the player's yell away from the front of the mask, and the soft ears don't allow easy passage of sound waves.

Tanks - Ninja Pro regs have a known issue with being more sensitive to dirty fills. Buddy owns one, filled from teh same whip I did for an entire day. His reg needed to be rebuilt, mine kept chugging on like a champ.

Speed Feeds - I know I've discussed this before and since and prior etc... but I've invested in a few more lately.

KM v2 Dagger feeds have near-zero sag...are stiff enough to hold paint in...only causing loss during the hardest of ground impacts, and are delicate enough to not need a pod slammed into it to open the fins/flaps.

Dye - after 1 year...its like going to a retirement home. Sag....horrible horrible sag...

Virtue Crown2- Removable fingers should be referred to as shootable fingers. They manufactured this idea with too much of a gap - causing the fingers to easily dislodge. Their fix/remedy was to include a snap-ring to put over the top. Mine didn't fit. My paintball shop agreed that it was a common complaint.

Virtue Crown SF - Expensive at $44/ea, but comes with 6 polycarbonate (hard) fingers on spring loaded hinges. The springs are loose enough to let single balls of paint in, but responsive enough to snap "closed" and not let any back the other way. Virtue warranty sweetens the deal. I'll report back with prolonged use results, but at this time it is my favorite. The down side? IT was a bit of a pain to put on. You have to alternate pegs on a retention ring that didn't provide "snap-in" locking. Most of it was friction mounted. While attempting to put my rotor color pannel back on to hold these fingers in place...I knocked a few out...a few times. Frustration? Definitely.

Sly have Profits. not prophets. and yes they're comfy, but whne you're talking, you echo in your own mask like a mofo. and as you said... acoustics coming out and going in suck.

for speedfeed... you need to go exalt =P

suppose my spelling error is testament to the value/quality of the mask's acoustics. That's what I heard the owner call it.
