What to get...
I currently have a Spyder Victor and have had it for about a year and a half now. I haven't been able to play lately due to a variety of reasons but now I have more time and would like to get back into it. I'm looking to buy a new marker for less than $150, preferably under $100. I'm not terribly new to the sport, I've played probably about 7 times or so, but still don't know much about it and really am not that good. I'm looking for something better than my current Victor but other than that really don't know what I'm looking for, any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated, thanks.

for that price, you might as keep your current marker. you won't be stepping up until you hit about the 300 range

New, the cheapest marker that is a true step up is the Mokal Aura/Valken Proton at $300.
If you're willing to buy used you can get the above for around $200 (I even have one for sale), PM7's, FEP Quests, Fusion F7's all around that $200 mark.
Note that all these markers are designed with the idea of HPA only, although there is no reason the Aura/Proton WOULDN'T work with co2 if that's what you're using since it doesn't have the same solenoid design that prevents most higher range markers from working with co2.

Yes I am using co2, but I have used air tanks as well although I notice when I do use air accuracy drops phenomenally, any ideas why? Thanks for the recommendations, I'll look into them

The only reason I could think for the accuracy dropping off is a change in velocity. Usually you see a slight increase in accuracy when you switch to using HPA just because the output pressure is regulated.

i recently tested the gog enemy and for a mechanical it shot well, msrp for it is 130 and under. some people arent fans of smart parts for very good reasons but for price the enemy is a good little marker plus it has a platform to put in electronics if you saw the need to. for the spike and velocity issues im guessing spring tension might be too high or loose, other than that give the marker a good overall look check for bad o-rings and such. lube the bolt and clean the breech also squeggie the barrel as it can have paint residue still in it. keep the questions coming we're all happy to help. look into a hpa tank if you do decide to upgrade though.
