Any pros or cons would be appreciated! Or suggestions for another marker.

yes, it's a very solid marker to start with.

Would it be worth it to spend another $100 for an invert mini?

I say mini> rail. Me and spool valve marker have never gotten along very well.

Honestly, for the price, there aren't TOOOO many markers that can compete with a Quest.

for a new player
rail > mini, i would not suggest a quest
if you are not all that familiar with maintenance i would stick to the electra or even better the azodin blitz as it is the exact same design but with a cocker threaded barrel (will come in handy down the road)
if you want to use CO2 though your options are limited to the blitz and electra, everything else mentioned in this thread will require HPA.

well in ans gear you can buy a smart parts ion 2.0 for the same price as a fenix but like stated above needs hpa, which is WELL worth the investment but before you make a decision you need to find out where you can or where fills hpa, you'll be surprised, but you said you had a local field so im guessing they fill it.

and the fenix is still a better marker
not to mention besides the money they want for an ion you also have to trade all of your dignity

Smart Parts/GoG is evil. Enough said. The Ion is not a terrible marker for the price, but there are much better markers in that price frame. There is nothing wrong with a player starting out with a Quest. I think it may actually be easier to work on than an Electra or Fenix...

not really. the noid makes it automatically more to work on. the lpr, bolt stick, dwell, already more than a spyder. yes they're simple, but that's if you already understand how a marker works

i agree, blowback leaks there are very few places it can be coming from and most mean it is your valve, balanced spool valve leaks there are tons of places that it can be coming from or caused from

The ion is a plastic pos. i do not have a problem with smart parts at all i have owned multiple guns from them. But the ion is one gun i can never recommend even though i had one. The gun shot good when it first came out compared to its competition because their was not any competition. But now since their is alot of guns in that price range and the ion over all hasnt changed that much the ion is not a good gun for the price range.
