Drop Forwards for Newbies

I don't have the exact idea what the ideal drop forward for my particular gun (System X X-8) would be but I'm curious as to which drops accomodate which tanks. Different drops have different drops forward and downward but I don't exactly know which are the best per say for each particular drop. What are some good drops say for...

CO2:

9 oz. tanks:

12 oz. tanks:

20 oz. tanks:

HPA:

48 ci. tanks:

68 ci. tanks:

88 ci. tanks:

I'm pretty sure I'm missing some tank sizes here but please help me out with this so I can not only help myself out but help others.

Oh by the way, I was looking at the CIP Speedy drop forward for my 20 oz. Will that work out pretty good? Also, I'm confused about the on/off switches like on the CIP Speedy. Am I going to have to get a macroline or can I just use the stainless steel line that I currently have? Are new fittings required? It'd be greatly appreciated if those of you with time could help me out. Thanks!

almost any drop will work with a co2 tank, but i prefer a cradle with a nitro tank, it balances out the gun more, and yes, you can keep your steel braided line and attach it. and the on/off switch is a kob with a little pushy thing on the end, when you turn it in, it will push the pin in on the co2 tank, cuasing air to flow into the gun, but if you want no air circulating in yor gun, you can turn it ouward and it will release the pin and stop the airflow

in my opinion, unless you have a 114 ci tank, you dont need a drop. Most of the time they dont balance your gun, and they make it uncomfortable to play. I prefer having my tank tucked on my shoulder rather than having to hold it with the other hand

most drops work with any tanks, as they screw onto the top of the asa

All of the CO2 tanks are the same length, so one drop will fit all of them the same.

As for the HPA tanks, that depends on the shape of the tank. Some are short and stubby and some are longer like a CO2 tank.

When you add a drop, you will probably need a longer air hose. Macroline is OK, but needs to be watched so it wont blow (very uncool). If you can swing it, buy a longer steel braided line. Just measure the distance and order online.

Hmm let me kind of rephrase or add on to what I have posted.

I was concerned whether certain drops would make enough clearance for certain tanks (even CO2) and how well they would balance out the gun. Right now I'm using my stock bottomline with the ASA right under my marker grips making it back heavy. I'd like to try to fix this weight issue, even if it means getting a drop forward... just looking for the right amount of drop and right about of forward.

Get a CP rail and a CP micro drop with a CP on/off and then you are set for any tank.
