I want to start playing paintball but i'm kinda nervous about getting hit and the welts. Can anyone recommend what I should wear for my first time out.

it really doesnt hurt alot. Its like someone snapping a rubber band on you. It hurts a little bit for a few seconds, but the pain goes away. Aside from wearing your mask, i would recommend a jersey or a long sleeve shirt, some durable pants that wont rip, and a cup if you can handle running in one

Hey Alex,

First off I'd like to say welcome to the forums.

Secondly, everyone is a little nervious their first time out, so don't feel like you are being a sissy or anything. What I wore my first time out was a pair of jeans, 1 t-shirt, a longsleeve t-shirt, and then a hoodie over that. I put the hood over my head and then put the mask on, for better protection

Also, don't be afraid when you play! Have fun! That is what the game is all about man. I will say that the first time I got hit, it hurt. Now when I get hit I hardley feel it. Don't get discouraged if you don't play very well the first time, you will get much better.

WERE NECK PROTECTION, WHERE NECK PROTECTION, THE FIRST TIME I WENT OUT SOMEONE ON MY OWN TEAM SHOT ME FROM A FOOT AWAY IN THE NECK, AND IT REALLY HURT, SO I REPEAT WEAR NECK PROTECTION

lol... the first time my friend played pb he wore 3 pants and 1 pair of shorts, and 5 layers of shirts and light sweatshirts but he ended up better off because we played up in the high mountains and everyone else was freezing their @ss off

dont wear that much clothes, you want to be comfertable (sp?) so you can run around and not sweat like a pig

drink a lot, i suggest for your head u wear a hat backwards and covering your neck so if you do get hit there it wont hurt, and trust me... it hurts to be bunkered in the neck

i wasn't bunkered, someone on my own team shot me when i was shooting the opponenent, it wasn't my fault

and WHAT DOES (sp?) mean, it' really annoying me

SP = bad spelling.

Paintballs dont hurt. Period. I can't tell you what it feels like, you have to play yourself. ITs good to find a friend who has a gun, adn just go in his backyard and have him shoot you in the chest from 30 feet away. It won't hurt much more then that. Do it if you got the balls, or else just go play.

And remember, your adrenaline is pumping and everything is going so fast, when you get hit, you usually don't notice.

the easiest way to put it is that you will be more pissed off that you got shot than you will be in pain

i would actually say dont do that, because it will hurt alot more if you standing there waiting for it than in a game. Like alpha said, adrenaline...

i know how scary it can be w/ the welts and all, i was dead afraid of being bunkered

if you get shot it doesn't hurt at first (not kidding, im a 5'2" 93 lb kid, and it dont hurt) if you do develop a welt, which only happens if you get bunkered, ususally, it hurts a little bit lyk a day later.

just cover your skin, its summer so you dont want to overheat, just wear a cotton full sleeve shirt and a thin pant, o yeah and make sure you cover your neck (get a neck guard or something) to prevent gettin hit in the neck wich can kill, you may want to wear a backwards hat under your mask to protect the back of your head too. i think thats it

first time i went out i wore a long sleve shirt then a hoodie over that and a pair of jeans but then again it was 30 degrees out that day also u should look into a pair of gloves it hurts big time when u get shot there as for a cup u rarely ever get shot there most times people will aim for ur gun or ur mask casue those are the hardest things on u ant thats where paintballs have the greatest chance of breaking

I play in cammy pants and a tank top. I took 2 to the neck a few weeks ago, hurt like hell but I got over it.

dont drink a lot. i did my first day of paintball and at about the 5th game i had to go bad in the middle of a woodsball game. do wear ur hat backwards though. it helps.
