well yo, main advice, is browse through some of the stickies, and refrain from asking simple questions without doing a search first, and post threads in the right forums and you should be good. welcome to pbf....

I thought I'd quote it, in some sort of blind hope that you just might reread this subtle message and grasp the deep, hidden messages contained within.

Hey, I have a question.
I am quite new to paintball, only been to a field once, but I enjoyed it. Can i ask a couple of question. What do you people think of a Spyder Imagine o4 as a newbie's gun? I tried the Tippman 98 Custom and I didn't like it to much. The sighting ruled, but I wasn't fond of the extreme weight that you needed to carry on a certain course going up and down a steep path. This Spyder also had an auto-fire, which I didn't see in the Tippman. If anyone can help me here?
Second, is there ANY good or average gun that would e priced at under $100? I can't find any, but I want to quite badly.
Thanks for your help.

sorry but if your not willing to spend $100 you can only expect crap. As you are just starting i would highly reccomend the tippmann. It may be a little heavier than a spyder, but you get used to it really fast. Also the reason its so heavy is because its built like a tank. It would take a lot of deliberate damage to break one, spyders on the other hand, are notorious for breaking down. Tippmanns are generally regarded as the most reliable beginner markers out there. I have shot both tippys and spyders and i definately reccomend the Tippmann. the 98 custom is one of the most upgradable markers out there (hence the custom). Its a begginner gun stock, but can be upgraded to a high endish gun. also dont worry about the full auto , you obviously dont plan on spending much money and to use the full auto you would need to invest $70 in an electronic hopper to load the balls fast enough. Besides tippmans can be upgraded to full auto guns if you want to do that down the road. Also full auto is rarely used (ask the people who have it) as its not allowed most places. If you get the spyder you will regret it when your in a bunker and it suddenly decides to break and then a guy with his reliable tippy runs up and bunkers you.

Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all who claim it? Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned.

i would go for the 04 imagine. buts that just my opinion. plus the imagine fires faster cause its an electro. but it also depends on if your planning on playing speedball or woodsball. if speedball, go with the imagine. if woodsball, go with the tippman (its more durable). if you play both, get the imagine.
just my 2 cents.

Nah... I wouldn't say "crap," but nothing good.
If you mean $100 total, Spyder VictorII. The tank, mask, and other accessories are gonna add up, so even the Xtra (~$70?) is too much. The Imagine is a nice gun, but not in your price range.

They're only notorious for breaking down when you ask a Tippman owner

Nah...you wont regret it. Because your Spyder will not break down as long as you oil the bolt and put a few drops in the asa and dryfire every once in awhile. The tippman won't break down either, though.
This Tippman versus Spyder deal is so old and I can't believe people are saying Spyders are "notorious" for breaking down. And again, I've never heard that from A Spyder owner. Only Tippman owners

Figures about Tippman owners, I know a guy who said, "Get a Tippman so I can kill you fairly, if you get a Spyder you'll be no match."
I showed him with a Tippman Carbine, I gogged him!

Make sure that anyone with a Tippman 98 custom sees the end of your barrel before they get hit!!!
