question and gun ID

im new here (and ive never paintballed or owned a gun) this is my first post and i have a question. my neighbors gave me their old paintball guns for free recently. came with masks co2 bottle hopper elbows and everything. in the bottom of the box was a coiled remote high pressure kit by PMI. my question is how do i run this to the gun exactly? do i attach it directly to the gun or does it need to go through a bootom line feed or anything? i also wanted to know what kind of gun this is. he told me it was a spyder. im sure its discontinued now but at kingmans website i dont see it. i will post a pic in a few minutes. also he gave me an aftermarket DYE barrel that i can not ID. the reason i want to know is to find out diameter so i can buy paintballs. im going to buy some evil paintballs. and what is the difference between speedball and the other forms of paintball.

It looks to me like a Spyder with a PMI Pirhana frame one it. The co2 tank would go in that hole under the barrel. You can buy a bottom line kit, I recomend gettin a regulator, for something to hold on to.

The barrel will work with just about any paintballs. I'm 99.99% sure that its .689, that being the standard. Have you tryed looking around the threads? It might say there.

Speedball is the faster form of paintball. It is played with inflatble bunkers that you hide behind. \/ Thats a Speedball field \/

There is Hyperball, much like speedball, but with pipes, and tubes.

Woodsball, this is an easy one, its a paintball "war" in the woods. People wear camo, and guille suites.

Thats about it I think.

Hope I helped!

That is actually airball. Speedball is using other objects like wire spools, tires, etc.

speedball is a form of paintball that is known for its fast games and close distances between the opponents. Hyperball is a branch of speedball that's played using hyperball bunkers that are made of plastic. Another popular type of speedball is called sup' air ball (pronounced soup) but some people pronounce it s'up as it what's up. Sup' air ball uses inflatable barrels (look at picture above posted by kidpaintball).

Your spyder looks like a spyder compact or a spyder 1. Their both very old. Mayb its a spyder powerfeed but it's definetly old. because it has the old body without a site rail. Your barrel looks like the 8-10 inch dye barrel. I can't place a name on it either because i can't find a name.

What you can do is place the tank/bottle infront of the grip frame where you see that hole. Later on you can by a bottom line or expansion chamber to cover the hole and place the tank in a different area. Or you can take your remote and screw it in where i told you to screw in the tank. Then take the tank and screw it in at teh other end of the remote thus relieving you some of the weight of the paintball gun.

Look for .68 paintballs made by well known companys, dont mistake any blowgun paintballs with REAL paintballs. Make sure you find a good paint to barrel match dont just buy whatever paint you feel is good for your barrel without having to check.

But if i didnt answer what you wanted, just check the forums to see anything else you may need to know

well i cant tell you how to clean it because i've never been inside that kind of spyder. But Take the expansion chamber and buy a macro line or steel braided hose. Attach it to the expansion chamber and dont forget to attach teh ASA. And the remote doesnt GIVE OUT high pressure air. It can HANDLE high pressure air.

There might be a pull pin...Look for one near the back of the gun. Then pull it out and the bolt is inside. After plyaing, I would tear down and reassamble the gun. Also, that looks like a benchmark frame to me....

Thats a pretty nice bareel, and the gun looks diesel too. For the remote, anywhere you can screw it in and it will fit, it will work. Did you know you can take out a bottomline and screw the tank in verticly? The same threads where you screw in the tank to the bottomline are found in the place where the bottomline meets the marker.

A few upgrades and you can have a nice setup there.

Most stacked tubes work the same way... Bt yeah, there should be a field strip pin, or a pin on the back of the marker probably about an inch from the back block. Push the pin, adn the block should come out. Look at how everythign is set up, tkae a picture rom a digicam if you got one, if not, no sweat.

Take everything, and get some warm water. wash off any paint residue or crap from everything. Then, get some MARKER OIL (Hoppes No9 gun oil works nicely) from a local paintball store, or you can find hoppes from a gun store. There are several O-RINGs. The O-rings create seals so the gas can't go where its not supposed to. After you've cleaned everything, put 1 drop of oil on all of the O-rings. Then reassemble. That will take care of your bolt assembly.

EDIT: Do you have AIM? I'm looking at the gun now and am making a picture that will help you. MY AIM is The NightHawk x . IM me and I can help you.

I looked at dye's website and they don't even make any one-piece barrels anymore. Must be an old one.

A lot of stuff on this gun is OLD SCHOOL, even the gun itself looks like it's old enough to retire. And yes syderballs, I ride MX, but I mostly race 4-wheelers when i can
