Should I get a 12" or 14" barrel?
I have decided to get a Lapco Bigshot for my Tippmann 98 Custom. I am debating wether to get the 12" or 14" and what makes it better. Thanks

They are about the same, you wont see a noticable difference between how each shoots. I would just go off what you like more. Its another personal preferance question.

I'd get a 12... Tippmanns are insanely long.

well there is an 8.5" availible. Would that be a better choice or would it decrease the accuracy?

Oh yeah. I got a question about paint. I was reading that the Bigshot works best with medium paint. How can i tell what size the paint is? And what size paint do they usually give at fields?

Accuracy is identical for all the sizes. The main differences is in how it effects your play, and personal preference.
Some like shorter barrels, since its lighter, and easier to get in and out of tight places. (ie bushes, snakes, etc).
Some like longer barrels because it makes a better sight-line, and it also helps in PUSHING in air-bunkers, to reduce your target area.
Mid-size barrels are a comprimise, and are generally the most effecient. As alpha pointed out, the inline Tippmanns are already pretty long. Your factory barrel is 8.5", so try and imagine how a 12" or 14" will effect your play.
If anything, the 14" barrels LOOK cool, and intimidate the newbs. In the "old days" I had a 20" barrel with 12" silencer on my old Tippmann. It was nearly as tall as I WAS!! Impressive, though still no more accurate then any other barrel.

THe bigshot has an ID of .689.
Don't worry. About 95% of the brands out there our "medium size". Perhaps 4.5% is "small", which is usually reserved for tournament-brand, and large size is mostly rare, older brands (ie Nelson, Bullseye).
A "medium" bore barrel can shoot any brand of paint fairly well. Shooting small-bore paint will be fine, but it will be harder to shoot through breaks. Likewise, large-bore paintball will also be fine, but will be less effecient.
I have a 14" cocker bigshot "somewhere", and it works just great with any brand of paint.

If i do get a 1 piece CP which should i get? The prices ranged from $39 to $45. The $45 are .689 . I can get the Bigshot at the same price as the .689
I hate to sound like a noob, but CP = "Custom Products" right?

yeah flatline isn't my thing. So what would be better Lapco Bigshot 12" or CP .689 12"? I was sure I wanted the Lapco but you guys make it seem like the CP is a lot better.
