I wouldn't even think of trying it unless you have been properly trained in how to fill tanks. Otherwise you could have some disasterous results

if you play a lot and as you get newer to the sport, buy an air compressor, not tanks.... trust me, i've learned from experience

I just bought a small nitro/comp. air tank off ebay and it should be comin soon. Now my dad has an air compresor that he bought from k-mart my friend gave me the idea to use that to fill up my tank do you think it'll work?

Nope. Those "shop" compressers usually max out at lower then 200PSI. You definately need to know what you're doing before filling tanks (and should probably be certified) but it's pretty cheap if you do it yourself. I own a 25lber that gets me roughly 32 fills (mostly 9oz, some 12 and 14s) for an average of $0.37 a fill. The fact that they are so easy to fill is part of the danger... You may think you know what you're doing but not know how to fill safely. Dry Ice in bottles leading to overfilling is one problem many amature fillers don't even consider!

Just stick with refilling the tank,if you have co2 then just get a 20 oz tank.

simply put, no you cant fill your tanks with you dads ol' compressor. You will need an industrial compressor, or a scuba compressor for hpa, they will get you the 3000psi-5000psi needed for a paintball tank, however your tire compressor will not get you any more than 200 psi.
ps- a fill station isnt a station that you go to to fill your tank
heres a fill station

ok what if you filled it with a cheap air compresor then refill it until you receive ur 3000 psi or 4500 or what ever you got? Or is it just a lost hope and i should shut up now?

You cannot fill it with a cheap compressor, period. You can only fill to tank to MAYBE 300psi with a standard home compressor. I'm not really sure what your saying in your last post, but it sounds like u want to "fill" it and then "fill" it again until its at that pressure 0? It doesnt work that way. The pressure in the tank will equal out to the pressure in the compressor and nothing will happen. You are better off just going to your local pro shop.

Actually you can fill it will a shop compressor as long as you have the right fittings. But remember that you'll only get 200-300psi.
You can use a bike pump if you want. I've seen it done....it just takes a long time.
