There are basically two types of hoppers. 1) the old gravity feed such as the VL 200. This is the standard bucket on top of the marker. This will feed like 10-12 balls a second using nothing but old fasioned gravity to make the balls come out. Sometime you may have to shake the hopper to get the balls to come out. 2) Agitating hoppers like the 12v Revolution, Empire reloader, etc. have a mecanism that stirs the balls up and allows them to feed faster, like 12-16 balls a second. Basically these hoppers sense that there are no balls in the feedneck and then it will activate the impeller to stir them up a bit.
So, now what does that mean for your BL millenium? Unless you have an e-trigger, you will only be able to fire no more then 13 balls a second, and thats only if you have really fast fingers. So technically you do not need the agitating hopper. However, I tend to still use one on a mechanical marker, cause I hate shaking the marker to get the balls to feed.
In terms of recocking, the marker is a stacked tube blowback, what that means is that when there is pressure in the marker, once youpull the trigger, it will completely cycle. In other words, it will re-cock itself. You will have to cock it initially, but it should re-cock on its own. This is called semi-automatic. This is also why you need to use your saftey and a barrel condom or plug when you are not firining it. It is loaded and cocked all the time. So practice good safety and no on will get hurt.
Hopefully this helps you out with your questions. If you have more, feel free to post here.
BTW welcome to the greatest sport on earth!!!
