Is a Spyder Xtra a good marker?

I was at my friends house one time and played paintball with him for the first time with a blade 2. Then i decided to play in the fields and went over to wal-mart and got a spyder xtra plus a co2 tank and hopper. I haven't been able to go to the fields yet to play, and i was wondering, is it a good marker? If not, what is a good gun between $100-$200 ?

get ready for another tippman vs spider arguement. well just dont listen to the "tippmann for woods spider for speedball" tippmanns are awesome markers but so are spiders. i would get a tippmann cause there easy to work on and very customizable. or just go read up on these markers and decide on which one you like best.

Xtra is a great gun for its price of 70-80 dollars, it pretty much comes stock with all the basic things you need. Any upgrades for it would mainly just out of personal taste [regs, hpa, drops (try to stick with things that you can move from gun to gun)]

I don't believe you should spend more than 150 for a package maybe unless its a dragun due to its 20bps but besides that any package for guns such as tippy98(tho i dont like this one personally), any electric spyders, electric fishies under 150 is more than fine. Reason why i mention electrics a lot more than mechs is because its always helpful to have a fast gun in sticky situtions but remember with any electric a electric hopper and very often a new barrel is nearly required (not always) but this will only cost you 60-70 in total and is well worth it

So to wrap it up
Xtra great
PMI e-Fishies great, needs barrel and e-hopper
Spyder Electrics same as above
Tippy98 0? not my within my personal taste
Spyder Mechs not bad, needs barrel, e-hopper not really needed,
Pmi Fishies same as above
Dragun T.E.S little more pricey, great bps, not sure if extra price is worth compare to cocker or used electro but still good gun, fast hopper needed

*to reply to that spyder vs tippy*
i cant justify its avg price of 130 and the idea that it can upgrade a lot. True it can stick on flatline and r/t and double trig but spyders/pmi/clones that are electric are slightly more compact, faster, and as upgradable as 98s, they can go high as going full electro fishie o.O so i dunno good gun and all but not worth the 130 for a blowback mech

I had an xtra. It was alright but it chopped like no other gun I've ever used. It's cheap, so in a word, you get what you pay for. It has a lot of stuff for the money you get, but it's all pretty unreliable.

^ is wrong in my xtra experience,my xtra didnt chop at all,and for a spyder the xtra seemed to be pretty accurate, it comes with almost everything you need to play, and the maintenance is super easy, the person above must of not been using decent paintball or something because the xtra gave me no problems at all.

Yeah man my Xtra never chopped on me. But when I let my girlfriend use it she tried to shoot too fast and chopped. But if you don't outshoot your hopper you're fine. Xtras are great.

Yeah, Kingman is a good company. I haven't heard a lot of bad things about them. Spyder extras are easy to upgrade to an e frame(about 60 bux), they shoot fairly fast, and they pretty upgradeable. I would have ordered it online to save some money, but yeah, you didn't make a mistake with buying the spyder. Most walmart guns suck *b.e* but they have started carrying tippmanns and spyders in my area, but yes, you did buy a gun. Good for a beginner and reliable.
