Newbie tippmann A5
Would this be a good choice for a beginner? I am looking for something I can learn on and grow into. I want to purchase one time and get something which will last for a few years before I change. I dont want to mod as soon as I get it the marker, just learn the basics then slowly improve whatever needs to be done.

go for it, good beginner gun but down the road there comes the time where you know u should give it up for a better gun, i went thru it, or you could spend a little more on a piranha evo, that gun is THE ****

i meant for noobie guns, and it is pretty good, my pro shop let me shoot it, even tho they don't really stock high end guns, it was the best gun there

Yes, the pirahna evo is a beast of a blowback. It costs about the same as the A-5, yet comes with eyes. Eyes detect if there is a paintball in the chamber. If there is not it will not allow the gun to fire. It can shoot about 15 bps i beleive. Another great gun would be the Dragun TES, but dragun and odyssey are in turmoil, so i wouldnt exactly go with the tes. I beleive the evo would be you best bet. The trigger frame has an LCD display, these always help when changing settings. The screen also tells you how fast you are shooting. IT also comes stock with a regulator. Overall, i would go with the EVO. You can find them for about 250 dollars. A little bit cheaper than a tes.

i would go with the evo. because the thing i dont like about the a-5 is that im pretty sure there are tournies where you cant use it. i dont know if the rule is only if u have a RT or if it jsut having the a5.

I say the A-5 would be the best stock for now. But i like the T.E.S too in stock form, because my brother has a T.E.S. that he has just bought stock. And I have heard good things from some friends who own A-5's and have not upgraded them at all. I guess a Pirahna Evo would be good, but then again I do not know much about the Pirahna so I am not going to go and recommend something that I know nothing about.

Thanks for the quick responses... For now I want to say with the Tippmann group of markers. Down the road when the tippmann shows signs of aging then I will do more research into other guns.

Can the Tipp A5 marker be used without the cyclone feed?

No. The Cyclone feed is the feed system. You cannot buy an a-5 without the cyclone. The cyclone actually works very well. My cousin has an A-5 with a response trigger, and he cannot outshoot it. Even if you could get it without teh cyclone feed, i would still get it, because it saves you the money of buying an electronic hopper. You cannot get the cyclone feed on any other gun other than the A-5.
