Ok, a rail is just a pice of metal that allows you to mount your air source adapter(place where you screw your C02 in) Right to you gripframe. It seems to me that by your description that you dont have a rail, but you have your tank mounted the same wya a rail would mount it. I do not know what you are referring to with the asa that allows you to turn your tank around, but they are not rails. I hope that answers your question!

That might've been a backwards dropforward, do you have a picture?

And drops vs rails is just personal preference. For a rail, instead of it bring your tank forward like a dropforward does, it is directly under the trigger frame. IMO, I would take a rail/unimount any day over a drop, but it's up to you.

Edit: Damn you posted before me, It took a while to type mine up.

Its all personal preference. Go to your shop and ask to hold a marker similar to yours with a drop on it and see if it suits your needs. There are all sorts of shapes and sizes, so make sure you shop around.

a rail isnt going to make your tank move very far forward, but it helps by keeping your vertical profile shorter, therefore keeping you more compact and less showing when you peek out from a bunker. a drop can help you with moving your tank forward, but it does lower your tank..making your profile taller...i have a medium shocktech drop on my marker. its very comfy to me. heres a link so you can get an idea of how far it moves with a "average" drop Piranha Marker Pictures mine is the 10th post.

as far as the people with their tank backwards....they just turn the drop aroung the other way.

buy yourself a drop and try it....if you dont like it, turn the drop around the "right" way.
