newbie looking for a gun
Hey everyone. I'm just getting into paintball. I've been a few times and I'm looking to get my own gun now. I have a bunch of friends that want to get together and play in the woods behind my house.
So, my question is, what would you recommend. I'd like to spend less than 250. Full auto would be fun, but not necessary. I will mainly be playing in the woods. I've looked at the Dragun TES, and the Spyder Electra.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Bill

I'd reccomend a Spyder Xtra ($80.00) with a Empire Reloader ($50.00) and a J&J Ceramic barrel ($35.00). That way you'd have a nice gun that has a plethora of upgrades, a barrel that shoots straight (stock barrels never work well) and a hopper that decreases the chance of a chopped ball and gives you respectible speedball capability.

all spyders work the same they just have diferent looks. so a electra would work almost exactly the same as a imagine. you could save the money you save on an electra to get upgrades. on most more expensive spyders they have a few features that you will replace anyways looking for better quality.
for $250 i would recomend:
Spyder imagine-100
good quality low price barrel-40
viewloader revvy-40
co2 tank-20
then use the rest of your money for paint and air.

The diff of tippmann and spyder is more of style of play, and the feel that they like...
i like the tippmann cuz of the length of the marker and i can sight, aim and shoot. Abd it's more comfy for me with the front grip angled the way it is.
Try some out, then buy.

Dont listen to ANYBODY. Get a pump. You'll be way better and will appreciate it more. Why get a $150 gun that sucks and is going to break down on you in a year or two when you can get a phantom which is uber reliable for a little bit more?

Any Spyder gun would be nice along with some upgrades. You could get a Spyder Victor and upgrade to the power of a Spyder Imgagine and save money. Or you can be like me and just buy the Imgaine which is good for woodsball and get a new barrel which shoould help in playing in the woods.

Ahmadi, I like your suggestion. I'm looking into the Imagine right now. Whatever I buy, I will add upgrades along the way (just like with EVERYTHING else I buy )
Thanks all, the suggestions have been helpful!

-Spyder Imagine($130)
-VL Revolution($40)..IMHO the empire reloader is a waste of money
-J&J Ceramic Barrel($30)
-Mask of your choice($40)...get one with thermal lenses
-20oz CO2 tank($20)
grand total of $260. save up an extra few bucks to cover shipping, squeeges, gun oil, and that extra $10.

Acctually I agree with Alpha. The money that U spend exra on the phanthom will come back in the form of reduced ball & gas costs.
