You should check out the reviews forum which has some great stuff but a good gun thats for beginners and advance would be a Spyder Imagine...their about $160 and they are very easy to upgrade and do mods. They don't chop paintballs and their a great gun for learning. If you do get it I would reccommed getting a new barrel, bolt, and possibably compressed air if where your playing gets cold outside. I have gotten a new barrel and I have noticed great accuracy.
The upgrades you should get will cost about $100 so in all total it will be about $300 with the tank. I also would say get a remote if your useing CO-2 and it's cold outside or you can just buy a $100 compressed air tank which does not freeze in cold weather.

There are already a lot of threads on this, please try searching around, that being said, there are no real guns that fit your description. Beginner guns are beginner guns, and 'pro' guns are pro guns, it will take a huge investment of time and money to bring a beginner gun up the caliber of a high end gun, and is more economical to just upgrade to a better marker once you're ready. Get yourself a nice starter gun, learn the sport, learn the mechanics of your marker then see what you want to try next. Most of all, enjoy yourself.

Angered Fists since you said there is no guns that fit the description of the kind of gun that i want then what would be a good mid-level gun that fits my price range?

Well here, you said you have $400 to spend on the paintball gun, tank, and hopper. So buy a Spyder Imagine and get a couple upgrades which would come around $350. Then you will have $50 to spent on 2000 paintballs.
Spyder Imagine - $160
14" Barrel - $40
Bolt - $40
So that's $240 right there, now you can buy a tank which ranges from $15 to $30 so that about $270. Now you will have some money to keep and buy paintballs, grenades, hopper, mask, etc etc.

Ahmadi6490 i heard from a lot of people that imagines are crappy and i heard that their good from other people so i cant decide which is true. and you told me to get an imagine and get about $100 worth of upgrades. wouldnt it be better just to get a pmi evo for $250, and it has an antichop eye and up to 20 bps.

Well I own a Spyder Imagine gun myself and i've gone through 200 paintballs and haven't chopped a ball yet. The gun never has to re-cock also its fast as it has some great shooting features: full auto, 3 shot burst, and semi-auto. Now if you get a gun that has some really good stuff, you still would HAVE TO upgrade it. Any gun you get WILL NEED upgrades because the stock barrels, bolts, etc etc aren't good. So if you get a PMI Evo you still would have to put $100 in upgrades in it and you will only have $50 left for a tank, hopper, and paintballs. Or you can get the Spyder and have about $120 left to spend in paintballs, tank, hoppers, mask, etc etc.

Spyder e-99 Avant (imagines great but e-99's better ) = $179
Crossfire 68ci 3000psi = $125
12v revy = $55
and still got $41 to go buy yourself some paint

$41 isn't much.....wouldn't you have $120 or $41 to spent on other equiptment? Also you would be useing an E99 without any upgrades therefor you would have a loud gun with bad accuracy and it chops balls.

i had a e-99 for a few months and chopped maybe once.. but i didnt waste money on it cause most people by better guns later.. its a spyder, its gonna shoot like a spyder, its gonna make the PING sound like a spyder.. i wouldn't waste money on a gun that you'd probably get rid of for a much faster, more accurate, better quality gun..

But it's still all stock. The first thing you do after you get a paintball gun is save your money and upgrade it. You useally get a new barrel then bolt and maybe a new tank. But if you use a stock gun your gunna have some problems like jams, chops, bad accuracy and most Spyders make the ping sound but if you get a new barrel with more porting it WILL REDUCE the sound. Ask anyone.

Check some paintball review websites. Dragun TES are good, my bro has one and that works pretty good. Or you might wannt save like 200 more bucks on top of u have saved and buy a bushy or a mag. Buying a bushy or a mag used would not be a bad idea either. Go for a used gun that has some ups and buy a HPA tank and a new mask. I would highly recommend the Dye Invision mask, IT IS SO NICE AND COMFY!!!! especially with dyetanium thermal lenses.

Cockers take a LOT of maintence but are good guns. They are expensive, most are around $300 just for the gun.

What the, give a newbie a cocker, you fool, what is wrong with you?
Invest in whatever fits your style.
Woodsball - Go for a Tippy
Speedball - Go for a Spyder or Fish
That statement is like the number one agreed on thing in paintball for newbies. There are a lot of threads on this topic though, so search around, see what each marker has to offer. It also helps to talk to a few people that have owned both types of marker you're considering. That way they can actually compare the two and not have a one sided opinion.

^^^^^^=absolutely perfect satement.Basicly for 400 dollars you can't gte a very good marker with very good everything so my advice if you wanted something better would be to just save another 100 dollars to get a Piranha EVO with the eyes and stuff and then get a crossfire tank of some sort,a revvy and a jt proflex mask or something.problem solved...

A Dragon TES is definatly not a good gun to get for a first gun. Their for more "experienced players" who know what their doing and can handle the maintence and upgrades without messing up the gun. As before I recommend getting a Spyder, their great started guns and you can upgrade them to be intermediate guns as well as advanced. I highely recommend getting the Imgaine, Aggressor, XT-L, or the Victor. I haven't heard or tryed the EVO but if it's made by PMI then I wouldn't think it would be a good gun because their not specialized in making paintball guns, their specialized in making paintball equiptment. I started out with a Spyder Victor as my first gun and I learned a lot from it. I also upgraded it well then after 2 yrs I sold it and got an Imagine which i'm gunna stick with forever!!
