every pump gun for paintball use needs either co2 or nitro.
For some reason many people recently have thought that pump paintball markers use pumped up presure like that of a pellet gun.

What a pump paintball guns difference from a semi automatic is just like that of a fire arm. The same ammo and same gas is used its just there is a different way of re cocking the gun. With a semi it uses blowback pressure to cock the marker again. With a pump on the other hand it uses the power of your hand at the front of the gun with the pump arm. one pump pulls the action back allows a single ball to enter the chamber then pulls the action back forward in a ready possition.


so yes every pump paintball marker uses compressed air or co2.

I think the confusion comes from Airsoft where most pump guns do NOT use propellant.

yes most pump guns that use 12 gram cartridges also have constant air adapters. For example the phantom uses 12 grams but the adapter can easily be unscrewed to fit any co2 tank.

other examples are pgps require a ca adapter.

some unfortunatly are hard to come by now if they are older pumps for example I have been looking half heartedly for a ca adapter for my nightmare and cant seem to find one. so if anyone sees one let me know.

They used to make those, but I havent seen them for a while.

You could probobly find one on Ebay, and its not very difficult to rig one up using brass fittings. (I've made a few homemade ones to convert some semi-auto pellet guns).

But... it would probobly be cheaper, and easier just to get a cheat gun that ALREADY has the adapter for 7oz tanks. You could probobly find a TigerShark for $10 or so on Ebay. It looks silly, but is actually a pretty good pump.

they used to sell them with 4 oz tanks.....and people would buy them up on clearence for the 4 ozers alone. I know I did..got a 4 oz tank for 2 bucks.
