College paintball Club
Hello,
I'm starting a paintball club on campus and would like a few tips. I go to college upstate (NY), and it snows here from late october till late march. Club has no budget, so all the gear will be outta our own pockets. We are all complete newbies, so any help would be appreciated. I'm still deciding on a gin (Either Victor or Imagine). There are a lot of woods here, and it gets REALLY snowy in winter, but we'll be playing I'd say once a week (on the weekends) all year long. Since we are just starting, we are trying to get the cheapest (though relatively good) stuff possible. I was recommended stock tippman 98c or Victor. Also is it worth it buying cheapest paint at wall-mart or any other store/online? (PMI would cost me about 140 for 8000 w/ free shipping). Any advice for the club? What else do we need, whats really necessary and whats optional. Also, major question is refilling CO2 tanks - where can we do that, since my college is in the middle of nowhere (Alfred University), maybe chem labs or something? We have no diving club. Thanks a lot.

i dont think chem labs would have it, and if they did i doubt they'd let you use it
i think your better off just running into the closest town to you, which isnt close, i know. only other thing would be if someone in the group got thier own filling station

about $59 bucks for the filling station. You can go to a welding supply store and purchase a CO2 filling tank for about 140. usually about 15 bucks for a refill.

Yea you could, but if you dont know how to fill tanks, id advise against it because if you dont know what your doing you can screw up the tank. Your gonna be playing all year including the winter? at the very least your going to need antisiphon tubes for your Co2 tanks because co2 doesnt perform well in colder weather, or you could get high pressure tanks (but those are expensive).

got anti-siphon tubes. was advised on getting a palmer stabilizer. Not sure if it's worth it. Does it work with high-end guns which use air?(planning on getting a good gun before next fall, say in august, something in 400-600)

just let your local field be the colleges sponser, thats the way it is at LSU i think. They have a pretty good x-ball team i believe, I plan on playing for them in a couple of years.
