im new to forums...found it a good way to learn and find good deals though..I was just wondering what people mean when they leave a post on their own thread saying up? or free up...anyone want to tell me what that means?

If you notice as more things are posted in each forum, the threads that have not been recently added to tend to be moved down the list of active posts. When a thread is posted in, it moves it up the page to the more active threads. So to 'bump' is to just add a post with the intention of moving the thread to the top. This is usually done to keep a thread from dying out or to make sure that more people see it as most users tend not to read anything that is past page 2.

You may also see TTT for To The Top which is the same bump/up idea. Although I don't see TTT here at all, other forums have that instead of bump/up.
