first off on a leg slide just kinda put one leg behind the other hard to explain just practice on grass to find your form.
superman's make sure that an arm or somehtin breaks your fall u dont wanna do a belly flop. Also make sure u have a lot of forward momentum when u do it that should prevent u from just ploppin. (edit if u wanna learn superman slide just watch some baseball when the pitch trys to pick off some1 at a base most of the time u do a head frist slide back i do at least.

Doing a superman slide is A LOT easier than it looks. I practiced mine just before, it is not that hard.
First Step: Put on your gear, it will give you the feeling like you are playing a game and you will get used to running/sliding with your gear on. By gear I mean jersey, pants, googles, and pack. Do not bring your gun for the first attempt. You will just get it dirty untill you learn how to do it properly and you won't be sticking your barrel in the ground on a fall.
Step Two: Find a starting/ending place where you wish to start and hope to end. It is best if this land is flat, has grass, and the starting and ending points are approximatly 25 ft away.
Step Three: Put one foot or hand past the starting point. This is because it will add to the realism of this, because most feilds make you stand inside a box, stay behind something, or touching the wall before the break.
Step Four: Get someone to say "Go!" or something of the sort. This way it will be like when the ref blows the whistle telling you to go. It is best if you don't suspect it because it might build up reaction time, which is never bad.
Step Five: Run low to the ground and about 7 ft before your ending point throw all your weight forward and jump. Do not think about it, just do it. Use your arms to break the fall.
Step Six:Repeat. Do this untill you are comfident that you can do it without recking your marker, then bring out your marker and repeat.

Great post MP11! Just want to give a quick bit of advice on diving /w a gun. You definately don't want to dive and have you gun go barrel first into the dirt, because not only will it scratch up your barrel, but it will make you impossibly inaccurate. You also want to have your gun in a position in which you can quickly bring the gun into the shooting position. The way that I have found is best to hold my gun when doing superman is shown in my AMAZING (lol) diagram. Hope this helps.

super man dives are overrated...alot of players do them for show now. not that showmanships bad but I also watched a player burry his angel in gravel/sand/dirt when supering into the snake. didn't even need to no one was laning on him. he could have done a fast knee slide a few feet out and been ready to play...instead he went for looks he ended up spending several minutes trying to clean out the internals with no luck. just not worth it. Ive gone over the snake before but its always in pretty desperite times...so many things can go wrong. if theres anything else you can do go for it. It should be a transition you should never plan on super jumping over something. It should be im gonna hightail to X bunker and jump it...if a lane of balls is hitting all around you then switch to super.
Superman dives are much easier with a pump gun. Ive played games with a single tube redz pack and a phantom with revy...light as hell. so when your diving you can also know you wanna do it and have the pack to the side so you don't crush your paint. then land on your side with your arm down. thats why pump owns you.

Dives are stupid... At least under normal conditions..
And at the times when they are not stupid any more they'll sort of come by them self. That is when U're pumped up on adrenaline have to get to that place in time and the whole field lites U up... I promise with 20+ BPS whisteling by your ears not only will the dive will be very practical but it wont hurt at all (at least not until afterwards) and it will happen entirely by it self - no training or special moves required.

Make sure you have some knee and elbow pads when you dive. Break the fall with your elbows and try to keep your chest just barely off the ground by sliding on your knees and elbows. If you're playing on grass it doesn't matter if you use your chest, but sliding on your chest on dirt and rocks hurts.

Wear knee and elbow pads, when your "superman" diving put most of your body weight on your knees and elbows and slighty put some on your stomach. Or if you can't do that then you can get a chest protector and put your weight on that.

chest protector? Only if you're belly flopping.
Do this: run forward and stay as low to the ground as possible then push off your feet and your toes and stay parallel to the ground, use the side of your arm that your gun isn't in to guide your fall. Keep your legs bent up so you dont dislocate your kneecaps if you fall wrong, lean to the side that your guns not in as you hit the ground. Then take the slide evenly along that whole side so theres a general bruising pain on that side rather than broken knees or arms. Get up and start shooting.

Lol i only do standing knew slides. It allows me to concentrate, fire till i am behind a bunker, and come on the other side shooting, no recovery. I will tell you one thing, you can opne a 4 inch cut on your arm, but if your playin right you won't realize it till your red, a ref says someone is using illegal paint, then you might feel it. But really just run as fast as you can, keep your head down, when you get near your target use whats there, ie bunkers, slide into that if you may. It will happen, you will do the right thing, that or you will be out.

The reason you see pros and other tourney players sliding is because they usually take a hit off the break and use the slide to cheat and wipe the body hits. In the instance above where bubbasar said the guy slid for no reason, he was probably covering a stray hit. Slide when you need to, and take your hits when you get them. Don't learn from the poor sportsmanship illustrated all too often.

i think supermans do hurt. not really bad but its not something that i really enjoy doing. i thry to slide on my knees as often as possible but when i'm going snake or need to just over a beam i superman. breaking the fall with the hand not carrying ur gun helps alot.

it is necessary a lotta the time for a frontman goin 50 off the break, once you superman dive your still movin failry fast and your low enough that you cant be seen and making it harder for you to get hit..
it doesnt hurt if you push off rather than jump.. dont go and just jump onto your stomach, more push off, and the lower you are when you were running, the less of a fall you have to endure.
