crap. what did i do!

i did something to my gun where it seems like the co2 doesnt go into the gun.... sounds vauge but i cant really say any specific terms or parts cause i dont know them
anyways, im new to paintballing. i just bought a piranha evo and i got an old co2 tank from a friend and filled it up.

ill try to explain what i did, that way maybe an experienced player would know what happened. not sure if this is a problem, but i didnt cock the gun back before i put in my co2 tank for the first time. when i put it in, my psi guage went up to around 500 psi and i shot twice and took the tank off. not sure what is normal here, but when i took the tank off, a cold cloud shoot out the sides.
i tried putting 6 drops of oil into the ASA (i think thats what its called, where the gun meets the tank) and i put the tank back on. when i went to put back the co2 into my gun, my psi meter just stays at zero and i cant fire any shots. i dont know what i did. i replaced the 0-ring on the co2 tank with no luck. did something blow in my gun or what? thanks for any replies

What might have happened is the oil clogged up the little mini filter. I've taken residue off the filter thingy before. It goes right in front of the valve spring.

And the burst of CO2 will happen after you take the tank on every time. Its the air left in the bottomline/foregrip. Your not wasting much air at all. Its only 1 or 2 shots.

Screw too tight -- sounds like there is a regulator there and you turned the pressure down too far. Turn it up again to about 600 - 800 psi - whatever works the best.

If you don't like getting sprayed by the excess Co2 shoot as you unscrew your tank and the air will go out the barrel, instead of shooting out the back when you unscrew.
