advice:
PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!
Buying a $500 marker before stepping onto the field ONCE is the #1 dumbest mistake any1 can make. If you do it, you will be laughed at like crazy at the field. Don't do it. Buy a spyder or Tippy first, then PLAY. After a few months get a slightly higher end marker when your skills can keep up with it.

ya seriously. if you buy a mid/high end gun before you play, and then decide you dont like the sport, there goes $500 into the trashcan. by the way, resale is usually ****ty for any gun, so you'd only get like 2/3 of what you paid for if you're lucky

I love seeing these kids on the field...

"So how much did mommy pay for your timmy?"

3 fat, over weight kids, refused to play with us, even though they were all in matching jerseys, and using 2 timmys and an angel. The only time we got them out on the field, we raped them so hard they left the field crying. Dont do this to yourself, because I dont care where you go, it will make the expierence that much worse.

"Can you fix my angel?"
After 10 mins of looking at it...
"Your tank is out of air..."

That was a good day.

Or when they forget to turn their gun on. Happened to me and I was confused for a few seconds.
Yeah but like the other people said, start small and go bigger when you think your current gun is holding you back

not that I started with a good gun or anything (spyder shutter...still works btw) but I sorta regeret buying it, and my impulse only because it turns out that I do like paintball and it wouldn't have been a waste of money to buy an angel right off the bat (but I'm glad I waited for the 05). if you know you like pb and are going to be doing it alot I wouldn't discourage you from buying a high end gun (for speedball) if yer just gonna play woodsball get a tipman a5 and be done with it. but it can get expencive working your way up to a good gun, you might actually save money in the long run by getting something good.

thats true. it does pains me to see kids who are scared to get shot, useing really expencive guns, hideing behind trees 20 ft from the start point in their matching gear trying to shoot people 300 yards down the field. but I'm a nice guy and just talk **** behind their back. the only reason I started with a low end gun was because I didn't know what a good gun was at the time and I didn't have any money kuz I was a sophmore at sf state (they never learned me how to spel right). but now I got a good job and I can blow all my money on booze, tattoos and paintball

one word of advice for people with high end guns:
READ THE MANUAL FIRST!

Thumbs up speedball fo sho'

yea i plan on playin speedball, and ive played pb and aint scared. im no puss. j/k. j/k. ive been hit wit a ball or 8. has nyone found the results that the most commonly shot place is in the leg/ upper leg area? ive been shot ther about 8 times, and two or three in upper body? another factor is im 5'0"or so. im no spoiled rich kid, ive earned my money.. thats soon to come. no seriously ive made dumb decisions, but ive learned. and if the guy with a victor lights me up ill be all the more better? right? i think ill be glad if this works out that i spent 500- a grand and was happy with it. if im wrong then thats a lesson i have to learn. if ur readin this plz flame me so i can get all the ideas of how i could be wrong. hathegkla thanks. taht incourages me alot!!! nyeway tanks alot.

Plus if you start with a high-end wouldn't it make learning the skills harder. If you go lower end as you get better it will force you to continue to improve to overcome the technical gap between the mid level and the high level guns. Or at least thats my way of thinking. That was actually one of the reasons I got a Mechanical Mag, I figure since I can't become dependent on all the fancy electronics it forces me to become better,

As for where I get hit, I would say 80-85% top of my head, hand or hopper. About 10% elbow or foot if I get careless behind a bunker, and the other 5% random areas usually off the break or moving from one bunker to another.

I went from a Spyder, to a Classic upped mag from Ebay to a mech orracle i bought on sale by myself. This was in a span of about 5 months when i read threads on pbf for 2 months priar, and then went on a pballing spree for that 5. Reading about paintball for a while before you play actually helps alot, you almost feel like youve done it before.

Speaking about Noobs at the chrono, i was messing with my gun and this Cammoed up guy with his Snipered Tippman custom comes by and s******s at me. So i give him a shifty eyed glance while he tries to fire as fast as he can over the chrono without even reading it. It tells him he got 8 bps. He was like "WOO HOO your Friggin Auto cocker cand do that!" I walk an easy 16 and he saids its not fair because he was running out of air...
